I grew up with Toy Story. The first Toy Story movie came out when I was in the first grade and I am now 21. I can honestly say its hard to see the Toy Story "story" end but they did it seamlessly. I loved this movie. I of course loved the first Toy Story and the second one isn't my favorite but pixar and disney did a great job of wrapping this up. I related with Andy as a child and I can still relate to him as he moves on to college. Excellent movie for kids, adults, and anyone who grew up with Toy Story.

I have been anticipating Toy Story 3 for quite a few months, and I was especially anxious to take my three year old son to the movie theater for the first time. So, I was excited for a couple of reasons. Team Pixar never ceases to amaze me with their story writing. They consistantly come up with new and inventive storylines that put other studios to shame. First, it was wonderful to see our old pals, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang in form. They never looked more vivid or more realistic. These characters are like friends to the audience, and it was like spending a few hours with your friends. Second, the new chracters were vivid and equally unforgettable. From Ken and Barbie and their wonderful room of clothes and the little is Ken/ isn't Ken jokes to Lotso, who was written in the classic Disney villain style. Third, the actual story itself which didn't disappoint. The beginning was Andy's dilemma and the toys's dilemma of impending doom, as they had to face the truth that they, the toys, had been outgrown. Not only were you thrilled for the toys when you thought they found a new home at Sunnyside, but you were equally horrified at their treatment there. Pixar's team of writers got the daycare center right. The way the kids mistreat the toys. It was hearbreaking and funny at the same time. The camera angles and close ups were just like ones from high quality live-action films. Further, the second half of the film, was a classic done in classic prison break style. It reminded me of "The Great Escape" with Steve McQueen, without the motorcycle. The ending, will touch even the most hard of hearts. You see it coming, but it gets you anyway. For a third installment in the series, Pixar's Toy Story 3 is more fresh and original and well written than most people's first attempt. Thanks Pixar for the best animated film of the summer.

Fantastic, touching film, but I spent a lot of time walking my 3 1/2 year-old out in the lobby--some scary imagery for young children. I would not recommend this for kids under 6.

Loved the movie for myself and 8 year old. The toys heading to a smelter was frightening for my 4 year old who loves these charachters. A little less fear and tension would have been nice for the younger kids. Everything else about the movie was great.

I saw this with a group of women and our children (ages 6-10). It was a very well done movie, we laughed and several of us CRIED. Repeatedly. Like Up, there are heavier issues here than your basic kids movie.

Pixar are kings of their genre. They get better and better at balancing laughs with heart. I'd put the "Toy Story" trilogy at the top of any list of movie trilogies (yes, I'm serious) in terms of consistent quality. This movie ties a nice bow on the adventures of Woody, Buzz, and crew.

My dad, 53 years old, rarely goes to movies but, having high expectations for Toy Story I forced him to go. Not only did this movie exceed my expectations but, my father laughed and really enjoyed Toy Story 3. I strongly recommend this movie to all ages, once again Pixar delivered a funny, meaningful movie but, I'd have to say that Andy was rather fruity and will most likely get his butt kicked in college if he were to bring the toys with him.

Our family saw this together and we ALL loved it! (33, 32, 11, 7,6) It was beautifully done with a lot of wonderful imagery and homage paid to the first 2 movies.
It was a little emotional for my littlest one. She was a little frightened at the climax.
Our babysitter a High Schooler on the verge of graduating said the movie was very poignant because she is in Andy's place of moving on and leaving behind things that are important.
A great family movie that will lead to discussion about change, family, and growing up.

Toy Story 3 was fantastic and our whole family enjoyed it. Pixar did a wonderful job in balancing the action, comedy, and of course, some heartfelt moments as well. I truly think Pixar has outdone themselves - Toy Story 3 is the best one in the series!

Not as much for kids as the previous movies. Felt like my son was a little disappointed when he said he was ready to leave with about 45 minutes left in the movie. We didn't leave, but when it was over he was ready to go.

This movie works on every level, as it is both entertaining and engaging, funny yet has some tender moments, and has an intensity that the other two Toy Story movies did not. The intensity is the only thing I would be concerned about with the very young viewers, as a couple of scenes are a little scary for younger eyes. I never got bored or lost, but the plot wasn't predictable either, and the whole movie held my attention well. All in all a most entertaining film, and a worthy addition to the trilogy. And who says it has to stop here? With all of the new characters introduced, I say bring on Toy Story 4!!!

I thought it was great, I do think TS1 was the best t hough. It had more plot details than the others, cinematography was great. Would have preferred to see it in 3d, but I took my 3 year old. I may go back to see it in 3D. It only held his interest for an hour however. That turned out to be a good thing (we had 4 adults all taking turns walking him around in the hallway so he'd pop back in for a few minutes at a time) since the end portions would have had him distressed if he'd been following it. He follows 1 & 2 quite well at home and when 3 makes it to our home, as I know it will, it may distress him then.
I think for a child old enough to actually follow the plot it could be a bit scary...even a bit apocalyptic if the child couldn't understand reality between fiction.
The toys go through some rather scary things. I think it will make it difficult to get a child to part with their toys.
I'm a Pixar fan tho so I like about everything they do. Its a great film, but, as a parent, I'd suggest considering your particular child's sensibilties before taking them.

Saw the 2D version and thought it was wonderful. The graphics were outstanding, the story line was very good, the script was good and there were both sad scenes, funny scenes and scenes that brought tears to the eyes of this 67 year old grandfather! This will become a classic that our great great grandchildren will enjoy!

They really thought this one through before putting it out! It was great! I found myself laughing more than my children. It really keeps your attention, and had great drama and suspense. I didn't know what would happen next! I want to see it again, but in 3D!

As a Father's Day get together my kids (ages 19 & 21) and I took their Dad to see this movie, because Toy Story is his favorite animated movie of all time. We all enjoyed the movie! Definitely a must see. My husband still thinks Toy Story 2 is the better of the three.
Kids will probably never want to throw their toys away, but it gives them an alternative in the end.
