Pixar did not disappoint with Toy Story 3. From the get go, the movie is wonderful. The opening scene is fresh enough to keep you engaged, but faithful fans of Toy Story 1 & 2 will be reminded of previous imaginative adventures of Andy's. You may cry, you will certainly laugh. The old and beloved cast of toys are joined by some new toys -- some you will love and others you will hate (or just be thoroughly wierded out by). I laughed, I cried (don't tell anyone) and had an all-around great time watching this movie. The messages were right on point and the story was good enough to keep young and old viewers interested.
You need to at least see the 1st movie to understand the story so go ahead and watch them all.

My husband is a Toy Story nut. We went with our daughter and 4 grand kids ages 5-18 and we really enjoyed the whole movie. The nostalgia for the adults is it brings back memories from the past. The toys you had probably played make believe with came a live. If you’re a parent it touches your heart strings with a child leaving for college, storing their toys away for them, it hits close to home. It brings the past to the future. The animated graphics were phenomenal. Great job Pixar.

Saw this with my husband and 3 adult/teenage sons. We have been to all the Toy Story movies over the years, and I think this was our favorite. Very funny parts at the beginning, lots of adventures for Woody. More violent and scary than the first two. This was the first movie in a theater for my 2 year old and she loved it! She was entertained the whole time and I of course loved the adult punch lines littered throughout. It was a very nostalgic movie for me and I was glad that I was able to share the experience with my daughter. There was one part toward the end of the movie that scared my friend's 5 year old (she was crying hysterically, actually), so it would be wise to approach this scene with caution and explain to your children that everything will be all right.

Usually the first movie in a series like Toy Story is the best, but not here. The whole family likes the first one, loves the second, but number 3 is the best of all. An absolute must see!!!

Excellent movie. If you love Toy Story you will absolutely love this one! Bring some tissue though, the end will definately make you cry! The inteaction between Ken and Barbie is more for adults and older kids to understand but other than that, it's a real keeper!!

This is without a doubt the best sequel movie ever.
They stayed true to the original story line while also adding new humor and plot.

I won't give it away, but if you;ve seen the first two movies (and I assume everyone has), then you know the question about what will happen to the toys when Andy grows up has been raised casually a few times. An amazing and hysterical movie especially for adults. We laughed out loud many times. A true Pixar masterpiece. The kids and adults found very different things funny which made for a great family movie. However, the evil toys and the very intense incinerator scene are a lot for 7 yr old to handle. My 7 yr old daughter who is very toy-oriented cried non-stop for the second half of the movie. She has declared "I'm not watching that movie ever again".

As with the first two, this Toy Story is fun for the whole family. There is plenty of silliness for the kids, and just enough over-their-heads humor for the grown-ups. My kids (5 and 8) were ready to run for the door once the "day care toy gang" turned evil, and were in our laps for the rather extended "toys in garbage peril" scenes. I'm glad we didn't see it in 3D, as I think that would have put them over the realism edge. It's a good, funny movie with a sweet ending.

I recommend this movie with reservations. It is far too intense (unecessarily) for sensitive children. The violence and emotional drama goes overboard imo. Technically, the movie is great and some of the new characters are funny but I heard more crying than I did laughing in the theatre. Also, I'm sorry but most of the reviews on this site are obviously written by marketing/PR folks.

Forget the fact that Toy Story 3 is a most amazing technical achievement. It's a beautiful, funny, anxiety-producing, jaw-dropping, audience-cheering, sob-producing joyous and love-affirming movie. Truly a leading candidate for next year's Best Picture Oscar. Did I mention that I love this movie!?!?!?

My 5 year old son went with his father so I didn't get to see it myself. He seemed to enjoy the movie overall but the monkey really scared him. He said he did NOT want to buy the DVD when it comes out.
