It's nice to finally see a horror flick that has heart and a good story line. I would recommend this movie to people who are tired of seeing the same old horror flicks but don't want to give up all of the goods that horror movies are known for. Great acting, especially by Katee Sackhoff & Abigail Spencer. Great, great show!!!

Director Tom Elkins has created a cleverly-filmed masterpiece set in the backwoods of Georgia. A family who has moved into a vacant cabin in the woods is visited by ghosts from the Civil War era who were mistreated by a previous landowner. The story takes many twists through history as we learn of the past misdeeds. The drama builds from the first scene in which the mother is tormented by her own ghosts. The combination of excellent cinematography, powerful editing, and brillant soundtrack keeps the viewer on edge throughout the last 2/3rds of the movie. Well acted by fairly unknown actors, the performance by Abigail Spencer as the mother is worthy of note. Her struggles with her own "gift" while trying to protect her family keeps the tension high. I would highly recommend this movie to people who enjoy suspenseful paranormal dramas.
