If you feel morally responsible for what is done with your taxes, and in your name, you will find Dirty Wars deeply disturbing. We join journalist Scahill as he investigates secret, nighttime attacks on suspected terrorists in several countries in the mideast and Africa. That many of the victims are completely innocent civilians, and that survivors become bitter enemies of ours doesn't seem to slow the bloodlust of this paramilitary crusade. What are doing meddling in these countries anyway? I found the evidence and the analysis unassailable even though it's hard to imagine why our military does such things. Shot with artistry, the tone of the film is more sad than outraged, a refreshing change. I found it a tad slow here and there, but my teenage son found it consistently compelling, so there you go!
It let me see how far Obama has fallen into the well financed clutches of military (which now includes the CIA and the Special Forces) / industrial complex of which General, and then President, Eisenhower saw coming and warned us about more than 50 years ago. And to see the disastrous consequences for us and our country.
