I really enjoyed the movie. I didn't rate it all 5 stars because the story was ok. It was too predictable. My 8 and 6 year old really enjoyed it but they didn't talk too much about it afterwards so I think they feel the same as I did.

Oz the Great and Powerful far exceeded my expectations! The story and visuals were wonderful! The movie was excellent in both 2D and 3D IMAX. I think if Judy Garland were to see it today, she would be proud. This will go down as one of my favorite movies of all time, (along with Wizard of Oz).
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great visuals

There was some rumbling in Hollywood circles (and understandably so) as to whether this film could possibly do justice to the classic from 1939 we all love. My OWN personal misgiving was James Franco being picked for the starring role...much as I like his performances in other films (TRISTAN & ISOLDE, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS), this just didn't seem like the wisest choice...was he the best they could do? (As it turned out, he didn't disappoint at all.) Regardless, take note: this incredible film DOES do TWOO proud...in spades. It's apparent pretty much from the get-go that the makers of this aptly-dubbed "instant classic" took their time and a great deal of love in the making of this very entertaining, heartwarming, not goofy, not-just-for-kids trip down the Yellow Brick Road. With today's technology, it is, needless to say, jaw-dropping in its use of special effects...add to this the fine acting of the cast, a well-written & executed script & the frequent humor & you've got an absolutely GREAT movie-going experience here. You'll miss out on a lot if you don't see it in IMAX-3D, too. Only one caveat: Could definitely be too scary for pre-schoolers. Check it out!

This was mine and my Grandchildren's first movie in IMax 3D. It was great! This was just as good as anything I have seen at Disney World. The graphics were great! I really enjoyed a movie that explains the beginning of another movie.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great graphics

A great tie in for the original on how the Wizard became who he is. Loved the black and white beginning. The work with characters like china girl was really good. I liked all the depth with the 3-D. 3-D usually gives me a headache and this time it did not. The ending kiss did not impress me one bit and really was not needed. A great movie for kids 7 and up. The monkeys might scare children younger than 7.
Pros well paced, great story, great job done on the oz artwork., not bad for the price. just 10-15.00 pp.
Cons the womanizer part was too much & not convincing.

First time at IMAX 3D and I picked the best movie ever to see. I felt like I was there. It was totally awesome. I would highly recommend this movie in 3D at the IMAX.

This was definitely one of the best movies I've seen in a while. We especially enjoyed the terrific 3-D, IMAX experience and the "extra" that Disney put into it for a true Disney theme park experience.
