The animals and their settings were capitvating. The movie began for me once the story of PI with his families journey to Canada began. Before that I felt a strong attempt to rationalize it's viewers to buddhism and the many fairytales of it's numerous creature gods while playing to muslims and christians alike which was both uncomfortable and humorous at times. But the special effects and cinematography was specticular especially the scenes of PI at sea with the Bengal. There was definitely a positive underlying message of family, determination and belief in a source larger than ourselves that resonated throughout. Unlike many movies this is a must see in 3D. And a big plus for me, no Bollywood break out musical with the entire cast dancing. Acting was good with the young PI, and Teenage Pi as well as the mother and father and the Bengal. But all else were unbelievable.
Pros special effects, cinematograhpy
Cons slow
Yes, I recommend this movie.
