Non stop action thrill ride with lots of superman history squeezed in. I enjoyed it for what it was but admit that the movie moved at breakneck speed. That being said, I look forward to the next one!

I've loved them all whether campy or comic book like.
Man of Steel has a great story line. The Lois/Clark relationship wasn't over played. Did not know Costner and Crowe were in the film. They were perfect for the roles.
I wish there was a way to slow down or simplify the spec effects. So many great flips my eyes could not keep up.
Everything was practical and believable as long as you believe in Superman. he Kent Family dog must have been over 20 years old by the end of the movie.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, a great escape from the hectic world we live in., i loved the way the planet krypton looked.
Cons show some spec effects in slow-mo to take-in more.

I really enjoyed this take on Superman. This is a good re-boot to the character and puts him in a modern environment with modern ideals. This isn't your grandfather's Superman so it may be jarring to people who are expecting that. But the Man of Steel attempts to make Superman more relate able as opposed to the big invincible Boy Scout. The acting was well done and Henry Cavill who plays Superman did an outstanding job. The special effects were jaw dropping and I did feel exhausted when the smoke cleared....some people may feel it is too much action but I loved every bit of it...a couple of times I almost cried so it does have heart as well...all in all it was an entertaining trip to the movies without a doubt!

great special effects, interesting story considering it has been told many times. this movie had a different twist. the special effects were some of the best I have ever seen esp on IMAX 3-D. If you see the movie pay a few extra bucks to see the IMAX 3-D it well worth it.

This movie could have been a very good 2 hour movie if they had just cut out half of the long drawn-out fight scenes. Yes, that's right there was over an hour of fight scenes that, frankly, got quite boring. The acting and story line were good along with the special effects. Hope the next one concentrates more on those things than so many fight scenes!

I'm a Superman collector and have never been a fan of ANY of the Superman movies (yes that even includes the cheesy Christopher Reeves 80's films) but this movie is definitely one I can actually say it was good! I'm sure i'll catch heat for this, but seriously go back and watch the 80's movie and tell me those were "good"...Anyhow it was worth my money...the 3D wasn't all that great so I would recommend just 2D.

"Man of Steel" satisfies on so many levels, particularly with fleshing out the Krypton origin story, and setting the stage for the wrath that follows Kal-El to Earth. The actors are all exceptional, and - most importantly - believable! The only problem with a film like this is that you simply don't want it to end - especially considering the way it wrapped up. The film did not address the near-destruction of Metropolis, nor did it resolve whether or not Lois Lane 'knew' Clark Kent, so we'll have to wait to see how the story continues. "Man of Steel" is exciting, breath-taking at times, and satisfies the long absence for Superman on the screen. Thank GOD for Superman! (4 1/2 Stars!)

Long fight scenes up close and blurry (and too loud in the cinema we were in) without enough story in between made it a long 2.5 hours. The scenes with Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe were the best.

There is a reason 'Superman' is not in the title of the movie. That would only make it the WORST Superman movie ever made. This is trash - as a Superman movie. It's a great Transformers or Matrix movie - it could've been called Transformers 4: Reenter the Matrix. Henry Cavill should've worn ANY other hero suit/costume - the Superman costume is inappropriate for this story.
I was taken out of the story about 15 minutes into the movie, because I was too busy watching for the parallels (easter eggs perhaps?) of just about any other action blockbuster. Nothing too terribly original here.

I've loved Superman since I was a kid and avidly read the comic books. The Christopher Reeves movies were excellent. After reading reviews of this so-called darker version I was worried about how it would turn out. Fortunately it was not overly dark. That was advertising hype. The scenes with Superman and Clark Kent as a boy with his parents (both sets), and also those with Lois Lane were done very well, and some scenes could bring a tear to your eye. Only problem I had was that although I love action and effects, there were more than needed, and more story would have been appreciated. Casting was excellent. Superman and Lois Lane, though different from previous movie, were perfect. I will be waiting for a sequel.

The critics are wrong! This movie was great. As a long time comic book reader I am finally fully pleased with a Superman Movie.
There were many easter eggs for watchers of smallville, readers of the dc universe of comics, and Batman lovers. You have to look sharp!

This movie is by far the best in the Superman world. Goyer and Nolan really made the story their own, then Snyder and the cast delivered. I work in entertainment and was able to see it ahead of time, I loved it then, as I did my second time watching it. I will definitely see it again while it is in theaters. It is a very fun ride, and inspiring on many levels.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great action scenes, fresh take on an old property

I was actually surprise at how good it was, I couldn't keep my eyes of the screen. It was a sold out show including a lot of kids, so I thought it was going to be a little noisy but to my surprise that wasn't the case. Everyone was so much into the movie, enjoying everything single part of it. Action from beginning to end, fighting, explotions you name it. I like the story line, I though it explain better origins of superman. Overall I love it! And the applause of everyone at the end of the movie couldn't be more deserving. If you can see it IMAX 3D its awesome!

This is not your Christopher Reeve's superman. Darker and far more serious than any superman movie to date, this is a must see movie for supe fans or anyone that would like to see a good action film with some character development and story behind it.

Being old enough to remember George Reeves and then Christopher Reeve many years later each in their superb role as Superman, I didn't think anyone would ever be able to bring back the magic of this heroic character again. I was wrong...Henry Cavill restores Superman with renewed life in full splendor. I hope to see Henry up on the big screen again in the near future.

A Superman origin story with a human touch. Many reviewers have panned this movie, calling it uneven, but I feel that view into Superman's soul is worth it. Zach Snyder opted for a flashback storytelling format that engages the viewer's imagination, while interspersing enough action to keep the interest of action fanatics. I particularly enjoyed the character developmental interactions with his earth parents (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane) which pull us along the path to understanding the Human, Clark Kent, and the events which help transform him into Kal-El, even while rejecting Krypton in favor of Earth as his home. My only beef is that the final action sequence seems anticlimactic and too long. While it serves to place a stamp on Kal-El's "humanity", a shorter segment would have been more emphatic and enjoyable.
