I've been waiting for this movie to come out ever since I saw the teaser trailer LAST summer prior to "the Dark Knight Rises".....and Man of Steel did not disappointment. It was the inspiring epic spectacle with the heartfelt back story that I was hoping Christopher Nolan would help deliver. The ensemble supporting cast all delivered memorable roles, the Kryptonian technological concepts introduced were jaw-dropping and the story delivered the message I hoped it would - good over evil and hope over despair. However, I've heard a lot of people comparing this movie to the Avengers and saying how it came up short, The ONLY thing these two pictures have in common is that they both involve super heroes. That is it. The Avengers and it's adaptation to the big screen was done extremely well and was entertaining throughout, but it was far more "comic-bookish" and practically created a new genre of "Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comedy" with its almost endless one-liners. Don't get me wrong Avengers was a fun and funny film to watch ... I laughed at every one of those one-liners and I own it on Blu-ray. It's a fun movie to watch. However, you just can't compare apples and oranges here since I think the creators of Man Of Steel were looking for something just a little more serious. Also, Avengers could draw on the talents and fans of a group of super heroes, while Superman had to carry the whole show here. As for comparing villains of the two films, let's not even go there. Loki from Avengers was downright laughable and about as menacing as a spoiled 8-year old little girl whose had her Barbie stolen. Michael Shannon's ruthless General Zod, meanwhile, was just a pure bad-(nickname for donkey), who even trumped Terrence Stamp's previous version. But I digress....All in all, it was just a great flik that never dragged at all and had numerous memorable moments that pay homage to the legend of the world's greatest super hero. It was the Superman movie I've been waiting for since 1978. Can't wait for the sequel.

Awesome movie. They made the Clark/Superman character more human than ever. He shows emotion and isn't the rigid person he's bee portrayed as in the past. Special effects were amazing and the back story and details and history of Krypton was very good. 3D effects were good and not to overpowering or distracting.

So it is not the comic book Superman I grew up with, much more what if superman really existed in today's gritty world. I did enjoy it and recommend others see it, but I put it more on the level with Iron Man 1, which is good if DC is going to try to advance to a JLA movie, however they missed a major chance to promote the next movie in that advancement. After the movies over you might as well go home there are no snippets at the end of the movie, before, during or after the credits.

If you are looking for loud exposions and lots of fighting, this a a great movie for you. I felt it was too violent for my 9 year old, but he was sitting next to me and he seemes to be uneffected. I was kind of hopeing for a deep, feeling story perhaps like the Christopher Reeve's Superman. This is not like that. There are glimmers of feelings, but then you get several minutes of explosions to kill the mood.

Fantastic movie! Whomever wrote the screenplay did a wonderful job. Superman was brought to the 21st century perfectly. The brilliant assortment of actors enhanced the movie significantly. Henry Cavill and Amy Adams were extraordinary. The cinematography was breathtaking. Zack Snyder did a great job directing. Christopher Nolan as producer was the perfect choice. He brought the depth in the Batman franchise to Man of Steel. A must-see!

New adaptation of a classic comic super-hero. The special effects were incredible. Later in the movie, however, the special effects seemed to drag the movie out - too much action and effects for the sole purpose of lengthening the movie and thinning the story. It made for a nice evening out; however, given the choice between Man of Steel and any of the Iron Man movies, I would choose Iron Man without question. Man of Steel needs to find his "humanity".

It reboots Superman quiet nicely. It shows Superman's struggle to grow up with his abilities. Between the cast and action sequences, it feels like a Matrix/Superman mashup. I could have done without the visual confirmation that the kryptonian baby was male, and at times it seems to forget to keep Superman's secret identity a secret.

I really enjoyed this version of superman... I thought no one could replace Christopher reeves as superman. After seeing man of steel I was wrong ... Its not like all the other super hero movies.... There's actually a very good story. I enjoyed it ... And most of the audience applauded and cheered when it was over. Only problem is the camera was shaky but I noticed it like a few time but its not that huge if a deal to me. I wanna go see it again.

The movie was excellent. But the only parts I didn't like was how Superman was getting beat up and knock down so many times and then in the end that's when he won. I felt like I was in the a video game. I didn't care for how Superman was getting a handful of fights and couldn't fight back quick enough

just saw the fist airing and it was great! loads of fun and walked out waiting for the next one! if you are interested in the big guy and like comics you'll love it. sure, the movie strays from comic background in some places but it's fine and worth it. go see it.

Saw it yesterday morning, the theater was packed!. Awesome movie, awesome special effects. A great start for a new franchise of a new superman and hopefully a Justice League movie in the very near future.
