The Call is entertaining enough to warrant seeing, but it is not a great movie by any standard. The plot was telegraphed, you pretty much knew what was to come next. The characters were not developed and were more caricatures of movies past -- couldn't relate to them as real people in real circumstances. Ending sequence was unrealistic and amateurish.

Totally scared me and my friends. I love scary movies, but this was one of the scariest, most suspenseful ones I've ever seen. We were terrified!!!

I loved this movie. My friend said it was flawless. I've seen a bunch of movies and tv shows and because of that I usually can kind of guess how things are going to go and I'm not usually suprized and with this movie I saw how it would probably play out but I was still on the edge of my seat and their were a few moments that completely suprized me and even made me and everyone else in the theater gasp and jump. This was one of the best movies I've seen because of it's great acting and amazing story.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, suspenseful

Starts off slow, then is pretty fast paced for about 85% of the movie. Then it closes really slow, with a crappy borderling obsurd ending. I'd recommend it as it is a decent action flick, but it maybe better suited for bargain tuesdays or a maintee I wouldn't pay full price.

The Call is the story of a 911 operator (Halle Berry) who receives a distress call from a woman reporting a home invasion. She takes it personally when things go bad and has to be reassigned. But fate brings her back to the call desk and the tension ramps up.
This is a classic thriller. It has all the right elements to keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning of the film right up to the end. People in the theater actually screamed and jumped! The tension is quite real. Its downright scary. Too scary for the fainthearted and definitely not for young kids. This is an adult thriller about abduction and fear, and the guilt that comes from taking your job too seriously when things go wrong and someone gets hurt.
The last scene is a little improbable, but its not important. You'll need a stiff drink after watching it. If you're a fan of intense thrillers, this is definitely for you!

I enjoyed this movie although the ridiculous and absurd ending. The first...ah..two thirds of the movie was good, but the ending was just...no. (which is probably the most important part of a movie because it leaves you with what you will, most likely remember the movie for, unless it is isn't ridiculous like this movie was and it wasn't an amazing ending to a movie like I don't know...The Lord of the Rings Trilogy....and the ending was just ehh, it will leave you with the memories of watching it and either the enjoyment or disappointment of the movie itself.) A movie's ending is supposed to reflect its own themes and styles, and when this movie's ending came down the stretch I felt like my mind had just sat through a worthless gut-wrenching movie, and it wasn't even that bad as a whole. I'm not going to tell you the ending, but I did not agree with it whatsoever, and if you have seen it you could make some arguments for the choice that it chose, but I could tell you why, if it wasn't a spoiler, it wasn't necessary for it to end like that. Anyways, enough of the ending, the performances were good. It was creepy and gritty which was actually really suspenseful and scary. Yeah, it was a good movie except the end. I just thought that it was a ridiculously planned joke by the writers to surprise the movie goers. Now, I'm blowing this out of proportion I know, but I just wanted some closure and a more clever ending that changed in a different way.

I thought the movie was better then good, it was awesome. The only thing a had a question about was why the killer was doing what he did. Why was he cutting the hair off of the girls he kidnaped. They only showed some parts about it, I'm assuming was his sister, but was it to try to bring her back in so way, to use the hair to disguise a body to look like her. That part was not completely answered. But loved the ending, now that was awesome.

Wasn't sure how this one was gonna be just from commercials, but it is a GREAT show. Halle Berry does a good job as the 911 operator who sympathizes with her PRs (persons reporting). It does have some kinda gross scenes, so don't think anyone should be bringing 5 yr olds like the lady behind me. >:( Action and suspense keep the moving going along at a fast pace. Nothing dull about it, great movie!
