Disney took over and has produced the best, most humorous, tightly directed Iron Man yet!! Robert Downey outdoes his previous "Men" by a long shot. His comic/dramatic timing are perfect for this somewhat long-winded sc-fi film. Although action-packed, the 2hr plus epic is filled with enough of a thrill-ride that is well worth the wait!! Surrounded by a superb cast, including Gwyeneth Paltrow(Pepper Potts) and an all too small roll of a faux villain, Mandarin(Ben KIngsley), who effectively performs both menacingly and comically, Iron Man 3 made for a fun, whirlwind time at the movies!! The film was originally filmed in 2-D, which made the post-production 3-D version, which I saw, less impacting and was not worth the extra bucks I paid ! Save your money and see the 2-D version. Lots of violence and blood may make this make this opus tough to take for some!! Not really a family picture. Edit

This latest installment of Iron Man is proof that good things come to an end. Unfortunately, I got to pay $22 for the privilege of seeing a poorly plotted movie with the same special effects that have been in the previous two films. There was nothing new about this movie, just more of the same old, same old accompanied by a louder sound track.
The end of the film intimates that IM3 is the last installment. One can only hope.
Pros pepper potts wardrobe was nice.

Iron Man 3 suffers from the change of director and direction. Sure, its definitely worth seeing, but just don't get your expectations up for something special. There are missed opportunities and strange surprises. But it is still Iron Man and with Robert Downey, Jr. and it does have enough energy and talent to sustain the weak points. Coming after The Avengers, this feels a little bit less exciting.
To be fair, there are still plenty of one liners, and daring action, some of it good. What seems to be missing is the romantic tension, the charm, the feeling of danger. Its a bit too formulaic. All said, the directing style is just not as good as that of Jon Favreau. He really had it down. Its a pity he didn't stay on as director for this one. The 3D adds very little so save your money and see it on a normal screen.

The first thing to say is that you have to see the other recent Marvel movies before watching Iron Man 3. There are a lot of references from those movies in Iron Man 3.
Despite this, I would say this is one of the best Robert Downey, Jr. movies, especially as Iron Man. You get to see him not only be a down to earth man kicking butt, but also a man in love. I see this being more of a love story than an action movie, which is probably why I enjoyed as I was not expecting it. All of the actors did well in the movie.
My only issue would be the end of the movie and the post-credit scene, but I know this was done to help transition to the next Marvel movie.

Iron Man 3 was a good movie. I think it lacked action. Starting it off talking about something that happened years before and then ending it with Stark talking to a psychiatrist was pretty weak. People that say it was the best one yet must not have seen the first two. It was OK.

Very entertaining movie. I liked the unexpected plot twists. Robert Downey Jr. has this role down so great! There was a moment toward the final end that I went "Oh NO!" but then even after that it turned out differently than I expected, and it was in a good way. Loved the movie! Loved all the Iron Man movies!

The Mandarin, the ultimate archenemy of Iron Man and one of Marvel's most iconic super-villains, turns out to be just a random crack addicted actor hired to portray a terrorist and not real at all! Then we are supposed to believe that some bronzed, blonde haired, blue eyed, surfer type dude that can breathe fire is the true Mandarin!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's like Superman waking up to find out Lex Luthor was just a dream and didn't exist or the X-Men finding out that Magneto was just a Danger Room program and wasn't real at all. When is Stan Lee finally going to take some pride in his creations and say "No you can't change that"?

While I've gone to the theater and enjoyed all three Iron Man movies, none of them have blown me away.
Let me be clear, if you're looking for Shakespeare or thought provoking Cinema you will be thoroughly and completely disappointed. And then you should be smacked. This is a MOVIE based on a comic book. Shame on you.
If you want action, wise cracks, and special effects this is your film. While I enjoyed Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal. I felt like every time we had a chance to see some real depth to this character we were cheated out of it for the sake of a gag or sfx scene.
I also read that some studio execs didn't want anything to do with Stark's alcoholism because of "mommy" groups. Again, I think that's a real opportunity to play on a real issue that plagues real people. A missed connection that could've made this film more compelling (especially considering Downey's own real life demons - which originally made me think he'd be perfect for Stark).
Get some popcorn and find a great seat. Turn off your brain for two hours and enjoy the spectacle because like the other films you're bound to forget what you saw as soon as you leave the theater.
To Joss Whedon, what ARE you going to do with Avengers 2?
Save your money and skip 3D.

My son and I loved this movie. I love the Iron Man movies, they're always great in the theaters. The 3D effects were a little disappointing, but still loved the movie.

Every single Iron Man movie gets better and better and this one definitely did the same thing. The movie was fantastic. Robert Downey Jr is Iron Man and no one else could take his place. Just fantastic. Just make sure if you go you stay until literally the very, very end after all credits. Great little easter egg for you. Highly recommended

The movie is really am excellent companion to the other marvel films. The only negative takeaway was the "extremis" story was not fully explained, so if you knew nothing about it, it could be hard to follow. The acting and directing were both up to standards. Definitely worth watching!

Was comical and dramatic. Kept you on the edge of your seat at times. I never seen parts 1 or 2 but definitely will watch them. **** And sit through all of the credit because there is a show at the end they leave out!!!
