The acting was fine, but there was no chemistry whatsoever between Tina Fey and Paul Rudd. Lily Tomlin's role as an eccentric back-to-nature aging writer was a tad over the top. I expected more from this movie considering the superb cast, but it disappointed.
Pros great actors
Cons slow, lack of chemistry
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Funny unconventional love story. My wife and I liked it. Both lead actors are great however the chemistry was not quite there.
I went to this expecting a light, funny movie and was pleasantly surprised; although some romantic comedy is there, and some really funny college admission committee scenes, its also really moving, and has some good messages. My friend and I both enjoyed it even more than we were expecting to and would recommend it!
From the dubious reviews here, I feared this would be a yawner chick flick. It's not. It's not Die Hard by any stretch, but is interesting with a good story and includes some twists and turns that are surprising. Worth a watch IMO.
Its a cute enough premise to have carried a movie, but here the only admission is that its a weak story weighed down by a poor script with wasted actors. Does that sum it up? It should. Although Tina Fey can be a wonderful comedic writer and actor, you wouldn't know it from this film. It feels as though she is attempting to stretch and has fallen short. In contrast, Lilly Tomlin is surprisingly good in her small role.
The story itself is quite unsatisfying in that it sets you up and then lets you down again and again. Every time it presents an opportunity to connect the dots, it chooses instead to rip them apart and leave you wondering if the writer had a clue. Its one of those films filled with awkward moments that lead nowhere. Save yourself the money. It will be on basic cable soon enough where you can change the channel.
I laughed and cried. "Liz Lemon" wasn't Liz anymore. Tina Fey and Paul Rudd likeable characters you wanted to succeed. Easy on the heart and mind. Light entertainment with a little spice, fun and meaning.
This movie just did not seem to get going. Both leads were cute together, but the story was pretty weak and predictable.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This was not a horrible movie. I guess maybe I expected more out of it, which is why it was somewhat a dissapointment!
It was a very "slow" movie. There was was the beginning, a long middle and then the end. No climatic area in this movie. I think that it ended strange as well. I think it would have been better if she had actually been the mother.
Over all, it is am OK movie, but nothing I would tell my friends to go see. It just "was".
