Writer of the book upon which the movie is based who also is the screen writer says he included a major role for Hitchcock's wife because his book was wrong! How can you believe a writer? Did integrity or $$$ drive him? Hopkins and Mirren are wonderful. Story is interesting, much like the film about Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier (and equally well acted). Hppkins really inhabits Hitchcock, who appears not quite as bizarre and mean as others have described him. Was Janet Leigh really that professional? That also is not the way others have described her.
I found the way they guarded the ending of "Psycho" and the way they marketed the movie as fascinating and from the period.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Brilliant Portrayal of the Making of a Masterpiece
Anthony Hopkins is destined for another Oscar, in probably the funnest movie this year for film buffs. Every behind the scenes detail makes the original film that more interesting to view again. They seamlessly intertwined the Ed Gein story with the making like it was an episode of his TV series in a very creative way that also showed the haunted mind of Hitch. Great fun!! See it ASAP!!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, film history
