It is always a treat to see each and all of these actors, even when the material is less than stellar. Together, they are a treat. The story is paper thin and the supposed twist is no surprise, but its a lite comedy with actors who know how to make the best of any story even if it came off the back of a cereal box. A few of the scenes are very funny, although its not consistent.
The story revolves around the fact that these men are very elderly criminals who still are the best at what they do. There are four subplots, each of which revolve around a separate woman that helps to advance the story by enriching the thin plot. Alan Arkin plays a small but pivotal part as the third musketeer who adds to the fun in his usual wry manner. Pacino and Walken make a great team.
Its comedy with a small "c", but with this cast its still worth seeing.
Great dialogue, excellent performance by Walken, Pacino, Arkin and Margulies. Good story -
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It was just like I expected, no more, no less. Gave me a few good laughs. Not your introspective, intense movie, just light and funny. It was playing in the suites at warren theatre and we just went for the nice atmosphere. I probably would not have gone if it weren't playing in there.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Delightful experience from both story and acting ensemble
Among the best acted films of the year, by the entire cast. The perfiormances all present real people with depth of character. Pacino and Walken, with all the sub-text they employ, and their delightful and warm rapport, are a total pleasure to witness. The story is a delight, as the old gang (including Arkin), on the verge of the end of their lives, get together to re-enact their earlier crime days, presenting not only their life-lessons learned but plenty of wisdom, as well. Thoroughly enjoyable.
