What a performance! Thoroughly enjoyable. As one who never got to see Zeppelin live when they were still performing together, this is as close as I will ever get. Musically the boys still rock. Robert may not hit all the notes that he used to and Jimmy may not be quite as fast anymore, but the energy was definitely still there and they sound GREAT. Even after all the years apart, they didn't miss a beat. Excellent song list. All of best ones were included. This has to be one of their finest performances ever. Jason seriously does his father proud. Somewhere John Bonham is smiling. The audience was totally involved, singing and cheering as though it were a live performance. The only complaint I have is about whoever was running the mixing board during the concert. He/she wasn't doing his/her job very well. The guitar solo's should have had the volume raised more because they tended to get lost. I look forward to this coming out on DVD because it is a must buy.
Pros great actors
Cons poor mixing at times.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie exceeded my expectations. I remember when it was announced that Led Zeppelin was playing a tribute show in London in 2007. I was blown away and wanted to attend the show so bad, but knew it was unrealistic. I accidentally came across the Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day movie by mistake and knew I couldn't pass this opportunity up. I bought my tickets and went to the show by myself. I sat next to people I had never met and rocked out. It was so awesome to see them all playing together again and Jason tore it up on drums!! I cannot wait for this to be out on DVD. I will definitely by purchasing it! If you haven't seen Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day, then you're missing out on some awesome footage.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great to see this in an Imax theatre 35 years after I last saw them in person. Hard to believe how tight they were with only 6 weeks of practice. This was a must see and now a must own when the DVD comes out in November.

While not the same as being AT the concert, "Celebration Day" is one of the better films I've seen because you get to see the joy the musicians have playing with - and off of - each other. The one downside was the low volume in the cinema - kudos for the guy who got them to crank it a bit.
Pros great story, great actors

The greatest concert movie ever made since Song Remains the Same. The greatest band ever got together for one last performance in 2007 and put together a great 16 song set on flim. I want to thank Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham for giving my son and I the opportunity to see the Hammer of the Gods on stage one last time. If you didn't have the chance to see the movie in a theather, make sure you get the DVD when it is released. We had such a great time in the theather. Everyone was cheering after every song like the band was in the theather and we all felt like we were at the concert. I am recommending this movie to everyone I know!!!

This movie was beyond my expectations. It was well directed by Dick Caruthers. For those who thought, Led Zeppelin didn't have anything left in them...think again and after seeing this document of their one off reunion on December 10, 2007 from London's O2 Arena, it will certainly change your mind on this. Even if you're not a huge fan of the band you'll certainly enjoy it.
This is all concert and performance with no backstage or other footage of the band. The closeups are amazing with so much detail. The use of Super8 cameras mixed in with the HD footage works well, but sometime this grainy type footage is a bit over done.
The band is a little slow in the beginning in the performance as well as a few feedback problems. Once they start "In MY Time of Dying", they really hit their stride. Other highlights include, "Trampled Under Foot", "Nobodys Fault But Mine", "No Quarter", "Dazed And Confused" and the first ever performance of "For Your Life" among others. "Kashmir" which closes the main set is just Grandiose, amazing!
The interaction between the band is quite positive, with a lot of smiles, nods and many facial grimaces by Jimmy Page. You could tell they were having a good time and you will to once you experience this film, that shouldn't be missed by any music fan.
Pros one of the very best music documentaries, music and permorance are top notch, great closeups of the band, several of their best ever live performances
Cons overuse of super8 cameras
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is a great concert. The volume was low but the music sounds as good in this new movie as it does in the old movie, The Song Remains the Same (which I was able to watch on tv when I got home afterwards). It looks like Jimmy used the exact same guitars in both films and he didn't miss a note. Robert can still wail and moan almost as good as ever. John did an excellent job on bass and keyboard. Jason sounds just like his late, great father; I wish they had let him play Moby Dick. You can tell they worked really hard to keep their sound as great as the good old days. I would have liked to see Jimmy play more than a few notes on the theremin but at least he used it a little. The lasers and light show was interesting. Unlike The Song Remains the Same, Celebration Day is only a great concert; it does not include an epic story line woven in between the songs or behind the scenes clips. If you like Led Zeppelin's music, this is a must see!
Pros well paced, great actors, great music
Cons not as loud as a live concert at all
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well what do you want? They're old and tired. Even Dazed and Confused was worked down into a managible size. Jimmy's bow work was obviously something that they had agreeded on in rehearsals, like "Ok here I'll have to appease them with this little bit, but I'll keep it brief." Fortunately. No, the band was tight, the songs well done if paired down, overall a very good performance filmed quite well. Vastly superior to the filiming on "Song Remains the Same." The only real negative aspect was the drunk old men in the audience still living in the 70's. No one paid to hear them attempt to harmonize their drunken warble with Robert Plant, and unfortunately management did nothing to curtail them. So a good performance filmed well, but it was spoiled by guys who can't get out of the past.
Pros well paced
Cons drunk audience
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great concert movie. Every member is still fantastic, even though Plant couldn't bring all the high notes like the old days he did dole some out - and the rest of the time his singing was so great you don't even misss them. The theater didn't play it loud enough though! Many cries of "turn it up" from the audience.

Absolutely fabulous. Nonstop music. NOT AT ALL DISAPPOINTING. Our showing had an enthusiastic & appreciative audience. I & others would have been willing to sit through another showing immediately. At first the volume was not loud enough. One by one three people went to ask for the volume to be turned up. After a few minutes, it was the PROPER volume! :-) My only regret was the concert was not longer. It puzzles me why the movie's showing was one night only & one showing only. A minimum of a weekend would have been even better. I listen to a so-called classic rock station in Tucson & this movie was barely mentioned. They gave away passes on one weekend 2 weeks or so b4 the movie. Other than that, it was as if the station had no idea the movie existed. The lack of promottion and interest by a so-called classic station was and is appalling. However, Celebration Day was a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT show. I would not have minded lengthier close-up shots of Jimmy's playing but overall it was very nice camera work throughout. The filming focused on the band and not the audience.
Pros well paced, top notch playing
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I echo most of the sentiments of the other reviewers. The movie itself was amazing!!! I cannot wait for the DVD so I can crank it up! See below:
I'd rather review the theater. Showcase Cinemas, Legacy Place, Dedham, MA.
The SOUND was horrible!!! Volume was WAY TOO LOW for a concert film. Even after multiple people asked for the volume to be turned up, it improved only slightly. There was no surround and the bass was lacking.
I've been to action films where certain scenes actually hurt my ears, so using the excuse that they were worried about the speakers handling the volume just doesn't cut it. Based on other reviews I've read on other sites, it looks like the sound was an issue in many other venues as well. Too bad since part of the "event" was seeing it on the big screen.
Pros great picture, amazing editing, it's led zeppelin!
Cons low volume, no surround, lacking bass
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie proves that age means NOTHING!
I was so impressed by the way they played. My wife made a comment of the faces and emotions they were showing while playing. I let her know that was the soul of the band... the really feel what they deliver!
The camera shots and effects were great. It was cool when they hit a particular hard note, they would freeze the shot. Added to the showmanship of the band.
Pros well paced, great actors, greatest band ever

This movie is fantastic and I would recommend it to any LedZep fan. I recommend that you call first and make sure that they are playing it in their best theater at rock concert levels. This could make the difference between thoroughly enjoying this movie or leaving after a half an hour like I did.
There are five reviews here and more than one of them mention sound issues. My wife and I both had complain for them to turn it up. They did but not nearly enough.
The theater didn't show the movie in their higher quality screen/theater! This despite there being virtually nobody in their better theaters on Wed. night! They have more than one theater that could have easily played a much higher, crisper sound but they weren't showing it there! It was in one of the smaller theaters where the sound struggled when they did finally turn it up ever so slightly.
I guess movie theaters just are not used to rock concerts. You can't talk to the person next to you without yelling at the top of your lungs at a rock concert. I could hear every word that anybody was saying all around me at this movie showing of a concert.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

After the first song I just knew this was not going to be another "The Song Remains the Same", which was a fine movie back then, especially if you were high, but not anymore. After the first song we yelled "Louder" to get the management to turn up the volume, which they did.
What follows next is the matured performances of the songs done by the greatest band in the history of the game. Even though they were 59 (Plant), 61 (Jones) and 63 ( Page) at the time this was recorded these artists showed that they still have chops! Even young Jason did a terrific job, but he has some really big shoes to fill.
I could have done without so many shots of the Big Screen behind them. Those shots were quite grainy compared to the High Def shots of the performance. I suppose there is some merit to the juxta-positioning with them though, just not to my tastes.
All in all this was an excellent concert film and while I have seen all these artists perform live I found myself clapping and cheering at the end of each song. All Zeppelin fans should see this and if you like rock and roll this movie was as good as most of the live shows I have seen. Play it loud, and remember that if it is too loud then you are too old!
Pros excellent musicians making excellent music!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Wow, it was over the top good. I told my wife it was a good thing I didn't know howw good this concert was because if I did i would have mortgaged the house to get a a ticket. I didn't think after all these years that Page could still play that great but he proved me wrong. The whole band played amazing. Every song they played was a highlight. This film was everything "The Song Remains the Same " wasn't. No dream sequences, no fluff, no trick photography just focus on the musicians. You felt like you were on stage with them. Other than the theater moving us to a different room minutes before showtime and then only having one speaker working for the first song, the movie is outstanding in almost every way. I could have done without the Super 8 footage clips (why use 40 year old technology when showing the movie in DLP hi def?) but other than that the entire 2 hours was mezmerizing. 4 guys, no gimmicks, no auto tune, no back up dancers, no posing or posturing and they were nearly spot on perfect. These guys proved why they were the biggest band in the world for so many years. Kind of a crime that they don't tour and let more people see the potential live music has instead of the prepackaged, lipsynched crap that is out now but I can't blame them...I don't plan on working when I am in my sixties either.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
