Beautiful opera to begin with, and the added backstage shots/information was incredible. Will definitely come back to see more of these at the theatre.

Aida is a spectacle of an opera, with beautiful music interspersed. This production was a bit ponderous and the cast seemed under-rehearsed and not entirely in synch. Nonetheless, some of the music is fabulous and is wonderful to experience.

This is the very first time I attended one of these HD Live performances. It went beyond my expectations. The camerawork was excellent. I especially liked the interviews and backstage information during the intermission. I can guarantee that this will not be the only HD Live performance I will attend.

This was a fabulous Aida, but for me it started slowly. In Act one the singing was gorgeous, but there was no burning love eminating from Radames and Aida, and Amneris just looked angry and jealous. I admit I was worried, but things jelled and as the opera progressed I was propelled by the story, the set, the orchestral playing so that by the time we got to the triumphal scene I was hooked. Amonasro was a massive pillar of strength worthy of being the Ethipoian King. The whole experience crescendoed to the final quiet tones of "pace, pace" as the lovers' lives seeped away in the tomb. BRAVI to all. btw at the Showcase Theater complex in Cincinnati OH we are blessed with excellent facilities, great sound, comfortable seating and wonderful service including brought-to-your-seats snacks, soft drinks, beer, and wine.
Pros well paced, great story, great singing
Cons acting a bit stiff

This is NOT a movie, so the above categories really do not apply. The production was fabulous - voices, costumes, staging, backstage interviews and info - the whole package. Not a surprise for the Met.
However, we were disappointed with the sound in the theatre, or actually LACK of sound. Even a grade B movie comes with good sound these days. The transmission of this production, which was done via the DISH network, I believe, came with underwhelming sound, which with opera, was surprising and disappointing. The walls of the facility were lined with speakers, all silent. Unfortunately, my partner did not want to wait to question management, so I am happy to have the opportunity to mention it here.
