Took my fam an a nephew to see it. The boys loved it and we're playing ninja all the way home....
Wife at first didn't care to see it but was surprised she said she actually enjoyed it....
You have to remember this is GI JOE before you see it. Effects were great in 3d and dbox seat added a little more.... I didn't expect much from the movie but as joes being my childhood hero I was entertained throughout the movie......
I can see why some dont like it, but then again they probably expected much more of a movie.... C'mon it's after a 80's cartoon.....
Pros well paced, entertaining

I gave this movie a Yes recommended to see, but here is the caveat: I thought the 3D and special effects were really great, but the story sucked and was hard to follow (or I just didn't care). I was hoping there would of been more funny on liners, but no. If you are taking kids, they will love it as my 11 year old did (which is the only reason I saw this movie), a lot of death and destruction but nothing bloody or gruesome. So kids will love it but I don't think adults will.....mixed review.

With all this star power and money they could have taken the time to work on dialogue, acting, editing and directing. So very flat.

Great movie. To be honest I did not want to watch it, but I did anyways and I'm glad I did. Good story, movie is filled with action. Really attractive male actors, like storm. Maybe even better than the first movie.

This is a fun movie to enjoy without putting on your thinking cap. Lotsa action as well as humor. Once again, the 3-D was not worth the extra cost. But if you want to be entertained, see this flic!

Let me start this off by saying I did not watch the cartoon growing up, nor did I see the first G! JOE movie, but I did go with someone who did. That person went in skeptical and unenthusiastic but came out loving it! As did I. Whether you're a GI JOE fan or not you can go into this movie expecting a great action flick with fantastic characters and a storyline to keep you interested. While the primary plot focuses on Cobra Commander's retaliation (yes, that's where the name comes from) and world domination scheme, you're provided glimpses into the world of the JOEs that gets you better connected to the characters and why they do what they do in a way that's not so overwhelming that it takes you out of the original plot. It also leaves room for a sequel, which I personally hope happens if the script is as well written and director Jon Chu is back holding the reins. With humor, action, and heart. GI JOE: Retaliation revives the franchise from the much disregarded predecessor. So whether you're a fan of GI JOE, just an average action hero buff, or admire one or several of the actors in the film (by its end you'll love them all) please do yourself a favor and go see. GI JOE: Retaliation!

I did not see GI JOE !, and this movie was one of the coolest movies I ahve seen, loved the action, this is the Rock that I have come to know, not like the guy I saw in the snitch

This is our first GI Joe movie, so we did enjoy it. But compared to the Avengers or other Marvel character movie, there was little depth to the story line or characters.

I really enjoyed this film. It has a fun story and for the first time I enjoyed seeing a 3D film. I didn't like a few shots where a fuzzy object was in front of the focal point of the camera blocking a portion of the screen. It was distracting. Otherwise I think it's fun, action filled, and has a decent story. It's also pretty family friendly. No sexuality other then a nice dress. There are a lot of deaths but its not bloody or gruesome.

The movie really was not a sequal- sure it had alot of the same characters as the 1st one but they are nothing alike. the second movie is more closely inline with the 80's GI Joe Great American hero cartoon. It was good, not great but if you are a fan of GI Joe, I would go see it for sure.

Not a terrible action flick. Remember, this is based on a toy so if you expect some deep social commentary or meaning, you should not be here in the first place.
Good pace, good action, some actors are better than others.
Just a mindless action flick but not annoying like the first Joe movie or any of the Transformers franchise.

Really enjoyed the fast paced flick. The Rock was a great character and he was cast well into the roll. Bruce Willis's character pulled the movie together and made the ending hold an emotional honor. The story line is weird but could potentially be a real story given where technology is headed. I love the fight and karate scenes. We went with a friend who had seen the first GI Joe and she said this one is awesome and is exponentially better than the first one. We saw it at an AMC Stubbs members only showing and completely enjoyed the movie in 3D. It is worth spending a little extra on the tickets to get the 3D effect.
Pros well paced, great actors, love the action!
