This movie gave the truth of the humble beginnings of our fellowship and I believe was the best AA meeting I have ever attended. Thank you Bill for seeking God and His wisdom. Devine intervention is obvious and remains in this program. Thank you God!

it was very interesting and had a few things that i did not know. i have been to his home in VT and to emerald lake which i think you used for backdrop in the beginning. also have been to the cemetery where he is buried.. very good.

Nearly worshipped, Bill W. seems to have maintained an honest view of himself as just another drunk. A lesser man might have succumbed to the adulation. A fair portrait of the man, warts and all.

Bill W. was an excellently done documentary one of the twentieth century's influential figures. Luckily the filmmaker is not a member of Alcoholics Anonymous so there is a balance to the picture drawn of Bill Wilson that might very well not have been possible if he was in recovery. In this age of celebrity, it was intriguing to see a film that delineated so very well the price a normal human being pays for becoming a celebrity.
The camera work and art design was excellent in the film. This could have been a dry presentation of fact and the directors made this film so much more with inventive and flowing graphics and artwork.
All in all, I believe this film has appeal not only for alcohlics in recovery but for any person interested in people who shape our lives.

I had actually no idea how much Bill Wilson went through, emotionally and physically, in beginning the AA fellowship and then keeping it from destroying itself. This movie told a gripping, captivating portrayal of the hopelessness, struggle and disheartening conditions of Alcoholism society endured by those inflicted, and at that time with no chance of recovery. That is until Bill Wilson, through years of torment and devastation through his own Alcoholism brought together pieces presented to him, through medical professioninals, clergy, religious organizations and the miracle of a friend's new found soberity; which he then ingeniously sewn together into a solution for a program of living geared to the Alcoholic like himself. This was an excellent presentation of Bill Wilson, the man, who was just a drunk like so many that AA helped to find recovery, with all his shortcomings and human frailties and yet who never gave up!
