I took my daughter, friends and cousins to see this film for her 10th Birthday. I was bracing myself. And you know what - it was a great little film. First, I have become a much bigger fan of Katy Perry, and what she stands for. Her message is: be yourself, believe in yourself and stand up for what you believe in. She also demonstrates her solid work ethic. All great themes to discuss with kids after the film. The concert stage productions were also solid - hats off to Ms. Perry's art directors, costume and make-up people. Seeing a show come together, and the work that goes into it if fascinating - here, the film is more documentary-like. To summarize: I expected to be a mere daughter b-day chaperone, and came away incredibly entertained.
Pros well paced, good message, solid art direction

I liked Katy Perry before I saw this movie but now I love her!! The movie showed all different sides to her and how kind a person she is!! She's an inspiration to never give up on your dreams!!

MY DAUGHTER AND I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS EXCELLENT AND LOOOOVVVVEEEEE IT!!!!!!!!! THE MOVIE TOLD WHAT WENT ON BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE CALIFORNIA GIRLS TOUR AND KATY PERRY LIFE FROM THE BEGINNING OF HER CAREER AND UNTIL NOW WITH HER CAREER. MY DAUGHTER AND I FELT THE HARDSHIP THAT KATY HAD TO GO THROUGH WITH HER RELATIONSHIP WITH HER HUSBAND RUSSELL AND HER CAREER. SHE STILL SMILE AND GO ON DOING HER TOUR FOR HER FANS EVEN THOUGH SHE IS HURTING INSIDE. THAT TAKES A LOT OF STRENGTH. WE AS REGULAR PEOPLE FORGET WHAT OUR HEROINES AND ROLE MODELS GO THROUGH WHEN HARDSHIPS HAPPENS. I really enjoyed this movie and am inspired by her story and also by Katy's honesty. I appreciated the fact that she didn't try to hide the sad & difficult struggles she has faced.
Pros well paced, great story

Great story! Helped me understand her character. However, the story was pretty slow moving and there should have been more 3-D effects for the price of a 3-D movie.
