This movie is so amazing! Chris Colfer wrote it as a book first and I read that as well and it is so great! I definitely recommend reading the book and seeing the movie. It is hysterical, with some sad parts, inspiring, and just an all around great story. Chris Colfer is such an amazing, creative writer and he is also a great actor. This movie is definitely worth watching.
