Despite a lot of people saying a lot of negative things? I think the movie, quite a bit actually. It's a Ridley Scott film, anyone who has ever seen a Scott movies knows it different. What did they expect Ellen Ripply magically appearing at the end of the movie?
I thought Noomi Rapace was excellent, and while quirky so was Michael Fasbender. While he wasn't quite as evil as Ian Holm in the original Alien? I thought he was excellent. Noomie could give Sigourney Weaver a run for her money in this series. The engineers was a really good idea, my only complaint is that Guy Pierce's character could have been more developed.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

The best example of how a 3D movie should be accomplished. Ridley Scott always takes it to the next level. The movie was so enjoyable and engrossing that the time went by fast.

I was not a big fan of Alien but rather a Dune fan. The special effects in Prometheus are awesome. The story line follows a familiar mankind seeks his roots pattern. I'm not into blood and guts but thought the rest of the movie was well done.

This movie was by far one of Ridley Scott's best movies. Had amazing graphics, excellent IMAX experience and had a good cast. But wasn't really a good 3d film because it lacks 3d scenes. Deffinatly deserves a 5 star rating.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great graphics

Character development was rushed. Typical and predictable Hollywood themes with a slight twist here and there. With that being said...I watched the movie in IMAX 3-D. The movie was visually stunning. I thought most of the special effects were brilliant. A couple effects have been done before. One of the more recent episodes of Falling Skies had a parasite effect that was almost identical to an effect in this movie. I was excited to see this film, but felt let down by the storyline.
Pros visually stunning
Cons poor character development, storyline lacked a real theme

While there was a lull a couple minutes long that showcased the android checking over things I was very satisfied with the intense action scenes and the special effects were amazing in 3D IMAX.
