When I go see a James Bond film, I typically am expecting: scantily clad women, gun battles, hand to hand combat, a chase scene or two, some tongue and cheek dialogue and a pompous bad guy.
This was no exception - all expected elements were definitely present, but I was surprised by how much effort was put into the storyline. They really give you an excellent glimpse into the past of both Bond and the bad guy. Kuddos to Sam Mendes for making a Bond film with a story I would actually read.
My only mild complaint is that the pacing started to slow toward the end of the film - not significantly enough to lose me, but enough to make me wonder how long the movie was.
Daniel Craig has really solidified himself as the best Bond - the strength and bad ass-ness of Sean Connery and the charisma of Roger Moore/Pierce Brosnan. I really do hope they continue to use him because he really is perfect for the role.
Keep them coming and I'll keep shelling out the cash - saw it in IMAX at the action scenes were amazing on that huge screen.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

I was 12 when I saw my first Bond film (Goldfinger).
None have come close to that experience until now.
Always a fan, I couldn't be more pleased with Skyfall and the pathway that it paves for more. Sean Connery will never be eclipsed as the penultimate Bond, but Daniel Craig is his first peer.
Hats off to the Broccoli family for the commitment to quality evident in this film. I eagerly anticipate the next and will go back to see this one again.

I am a huge Bond fan, having seen every previous Bond movie. Many of them multiple times. Skyfall has topped them all. The effects and cinematography are amazing, and Daniel Craig is at the top of his game. If you can, definitely see it in IMAX!! It's breathtaking.

Movies is nicely-paced and hits all of the right notes. Terrific job of providing some backstory on Bond. Though set in present day, it elicits more of a 60s vibe than its two predecessors. Wonderful use of the settings --- Turkey, Shanghai, Macau and Scotland.

This was killer - especially in IMAX. My two favorite scenes are the subway train falling through the blown out hole and the helicopter shooting the 50 caliber gun and then blowing up. Awesome!!!

Sam Mendes orchestrates a piece of celluloid perfection with the third Daniel Craig installment. From the moment Bond's silhouette sinks into crystal waters and Adele's voice enters the tympanic membrane, valid Bond fans will envisage what waits in the coming two hours.
The set pieces throughout each act propel the film to an epic conclusion that will transcend Bond fanatics and moviegoers alike. Javier Bardem is arguably the most twisted, dastardly, unhinged and cunning amalgamation Bond has ever faced in his fifty years, and 'my-oh-my' is it a pleasure to behold...
From a cinematography aspect the film is superlative, and quite possibly the best the series has ever seen -- no buffoonery.
In closing, allow yourself to become captivated with the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise, as this will not disappoint; nor deny the craving for Bond magic.
Skyfall will cement itself alongside such EON classics as From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Man with the Golden Gun, and Goldeneye.
