Thought it was different from the typical bond movie. It appeals to all age groups. The dialogue was well written. Nuances, catch phrases, current events & culture were there for those who could pick up on it. However, even if you didn't, not a big deal.
Love the exotic locations, the scene where you can tell James is really mad, the emotion of the crisis (don't want to give it away) and the humanity of it all.
Wasn't sure how I'd like it but at the end, applause erupted in the theater!

Cons the villian shouldn't have been blonde.

Maybe it's Craig maybe it's Bond but whatever it was I enjoyed every moment. Left me wanting more. Javier of course his typical scariness and when they showed his "real" face well let's just say I won't forget that in the near future. The historical bond, the Aston, M all left me with the nostalgia of the old Bond ringing in with the new techie Bond. Even striking at Q's arrogance was necessary and handled properly. Thank you, again, for keeping Bond hip, cool, manly and a vision for our eyes. A fan since Connery.

Incredible action throughout the entire movie. The plot, the setting, the reality, and the consequence of reality was solid enough to carry me the viewer into a state of believeability long enough to get through the movie's duration without having to remind myself that this is really a movie.

At last 007 played up as a for real action thriller. Toned down on the sexy scenes and less lurid humor, but the villain has preternatural personality with equally fantastical revenge motivations accompanied with vast command of resources such as improbable hoards of henchmen to be shot in his stead. All told in IMAX a fun ride and I eagerly await the next installment. (Also long term Bond watchers a major what if of Bond lore is definitely answered at the calm down wrap up of the movie. Pay attention.)

This was a different Bond, though Daniel Craig has always been what you expected a spy with a license to kill to be.

Some movies look like they will be good and then when you see them you wish you would have waited for it to appear on redbox. Not this one. I saw this in IMAX. It was worth every penny and I might even go see it again before it leaves theaters. I've been watching Bond movies my entire life. This one certainly rates very close to the top. Daniel Craig presents a charismatic classic Bond as many Bond actors have, but his characterization never abandons the reality that a real agent would possess deeply rooted military training that would certainly influence his behavior and actions. As a combat veteran I appreciate the military side of Bond movies. Some of the older movies seem to lack military realism, but Craig Bond movies seem to overcome this problem. In short, you should see this in the theater while you can. You won't regret it. Very well done.

Fantastic installment in the Bond series. Very well shot and did not get lost in the special effects. Daniel Craig is the perfect Bond and Javier Bardem is one creepy villain.
See it in IMAX if possible. There wasn't a bad seat in the house with that screen.

I'm sure the traditionalist Connery fans shudder at the comment, but this is arguably the best entry in the 50 year series. A must see for all Bond fans, and a movie that the 'non' Bond fans will enjoy equally. Something for everyone here. The writing and direction is at it's finest here with razor sharp dialogue and great camera direction. Enjoy!

It had all that we have come to expect from a great Bond movie: exciting chases, beautiful women, evil villain, intriguing plot. It also had more depth of character from Bond, as well as some backstory for other beloved characters, even though we had new actors playing them. It was engaging and involving throughout. I saw it in IMAX and it was a terrific experience.

What a great film. Excellent acting. Daniel Craig is becoming my favorite "007!" Javier Bardem was outstanding. The effects and story were second to none.

This is now my new favorite Bond movie! I think Daniel Craig has breathed new life into agent 007. I can't wait for the next one! And the end if this movie is simply...Classic!

Sam Mendes' Skyfall does for the 007 franchise what Christopher Nolan did with Batman Begins. And though I still think Sean Connery when I think of 007, Daniel Craig WILL surpass him...if not already. Simply badass.

Quantum of Solace left me feeling anxious because it was a mediocre effort.. Skyfall makes up for it and then some! Great action, a fantastic story and an overall superb product. It was exactly what I was hoping for after Casino Royale. It just took a movie in between to get there. Javier Bardem is frightening and Craig is to a point where he is fully James Bond. Can't wait to see this again (Imax sound quality is amazing) and can't wait for the next installment.

If you liked the traditional Bond movies with Sean Connery, you will likley LOVE this one! Daniel Craig adds such a great depth of character to Bond and brings him to life like never before based on Ian Flemming's original character in the book series..
The Skyfall script, the stunning location scenery, cinematography, action (of course) and plot theme make this one of the best Bond films ever once again. I thoroughly enjoyed it, might even see it again and will buy the DVD. Check the other reviews out. It's hard to find a bad review. I haven't yet!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, daniel craig brings more depth to bonds character, cinemetography scenery exotic locations, great action!

Daniel Craig has now starred in the two greatest James Bond movies ever made (let the criticism begin), and although he also starred in the worst (“Quantum of Solace”), it wasn’t all his fault and can be forgiven. But enough comparing, because “Skyfall” needs no comparison, and would embarrass its competitors anyway. Sam Mendes has delivered a riveting thrill machine of a movie, with a rich character at its heart – James Bond. That’s right, the cold, calculating killer reveals even more of his soft side as we delve deep into his past. The emotional feeling we get from the famed agent is entirely due to Craig’s acting, who has brought more to the psychological side of Bond than the rest of the players combined. Sure, his films may lack some of the quirk and humor of the earlier offerings, but the character is still finding himself (six years ago he didn’t even know what drink to order). And trust me, there is plenty of humor, and a dash of quirk, in this fantastic entry. “Skyfall” gives us a compelling story that we can actually wrap our heads around, as it is nearly as simple as revenge. We get a wildly sinister villain from Javier Bardem (who reminds me of Ledger’s turn as Joker, and Bardem is equally Oscar-worthy), a multi-dimensional M from Judi Dench, the introduction of Q and Money Penny, as well as some throwbacks towards the films of old. Directed by Oscar-winner Mendes and filmed with a master’s touch by Roger Deakins, this is a Bond film that redefines Bond films (after “Casino Royale” rejuvenated them in 2006) and offers up something for everyone. Two amazingly choreographed (and photographed) action scenes and Adele’s soul-stirring theme song, with the accompanying and superb opening credits, are the icing on the cake. So I suppose the 23rd time’s the charm. “Skyfall” drops strongly in first place as the best of Bond.

Ok. So James Bond cries. Hasn't happened since George Lazenby and for similar reasons too.
OK short and sweet.
Too much Dench time. seriously anymore closeups of her ancient punim and they should rename the movie Judi Skyfall. This movie was more about the aging Dench than the swashbuckling Bond.
Not enough real action. Lot of time spent building plot and sadness and anxiety. But really Live and Let Die and countless other stil achieve a PACE that this film regrettably fails to deliver.
OUtside of Javier who does a great job reviving and modernizing Christopher Walken, there weren't any other notable characters. Oh where oh where are Mr. Kidd and his sidekick. All the bad guys were just boring.
The Bond girls totally sucked. Moneypenny was just sexless. Can't even remember the other Bond Girl. Oh where oh where is the sexy, powerful alluring charm of Bond girls past.
Ok, the smarmy Britsh attempts at humor really dont deliver to a US audience. Isnt the world globalizing so that viewers dont have to hear crap like "we're buggered". I mean really this is the best the writing staff can come up with?
Why is Bond turning into the Dark Knight. Do all movies have to be filmed in tunnels, dark rooms and night scenes. Is the daytime world so boring that we can only be turned on by seeing characters and scenes against dark backdrops. really, add a bit of sunshine.
Too cool for gadgets? seriously?
i saved this for last because the whole last set of scenes in the movie just not tangibly believable. i wont give away the plot sequence but why would i believe that our protagonists couldn't get more help secretly. i just found it hard to buy into.
All in all in an absolute sense the movie was enjoyable just not so memorable. But relative to the fantasy of James Bond i felt it disappointed. Not enough action. Not enough cool.
