This is one to see in IMAX 3D! If it wasn't 1 a.m. when the move let out, we would had got back in line and seen it again. This is going to be the best movie of the year!

It was very well done and actually suitable for all audiences. I was concerned about the children seeing it when some of the individual titles weren't exactly what I saw as acceptable. But this movie handled the possibility for kids as well as entertained the adults.
And I really don't have to say anything about the cast. They are amazing and really speak for themselves. I am so glad that it turned out well and defied my expectations.

This movie was just simply amazing! The hype & wait were definitely worth it. It was all that I expected, and more. Plenty of action from start to finish, humor, good story line, great acting. My husband & I are big movie-goers, and we both left the theater (as well as our 10 yr old son) saying it was the best movie we've ever seen. We went for the IMAX 3D, and while IMAX was definitely worth it, I'm not so sure about 3D. There wasn't a ton of 3D action, but I'm starting to notice that in a lot of 3D movies. We liked it so much we're going again this weekend, I can't wait!! I cannot recommend this movie enough.

A great movie no matter how you see it but if you are seeing in 3D, spend the extra, make the drive and see it in an actual IMax theater. I saw Thor and Capt. America in Real 3D. I think the Imax 3D Experience really improves the 3D quaulity.

I'm not always the one to see action movies; however, this was the BEST movie experience I've ever witnessed. The acting was incredible. The story line was great, and the character build from past movies to immediately flow into this movie was seamless.

This movie does nothing but deliver, with spectacular special effects and fast moving plot you never feel like the 2 hr 22 min super hero pants tent drags at all. Finally all the set up movies are done (until the they start pumping out all the sequels Thor 2, Captain America 2 etc..) and its the main event and Marvels The Avengers nailed it. A near perfect mix of action and comedy thanks to the quick wit of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and the dark sly villain Loki (which made "Thor" watchable) playing the perfect antagonist. Can i say one thing MORE HULK!!! Don't get me wrong i'm a big Edward Norton fan but it only took 2 mins of Mark Ruffalo playing Bruce Banner that i knew they made the right diction. He took it in a different direction with more of a personalty and a nerviest energy to him it was a great change. All and all the third act of this movie alone could be considered the best super hero movie made yet and presented in IMAX 3D it will have you on the edge of your seat and a smile on your face for the duration five stars easy.

While the 3D aspect did not particularly go well with my vertigo, the movie, as a whole was masterfully executed.
The initial friction between the characters was to be expected based on the previous movies, but, when they came together to go up against the antagonist and his armies, the action was great.
My wife and I will be going to see it (this one was Boys' Night Out) in the 2D format on my next paycheck.

Loved the movie and especially after seeing it in an IMAX theatre. A little slow to begin but that didn't take long to get it going full speed. Curious how Thor was able to come back to earth after the ending of his movie??Especially love the seen where they are all sitting around a table at a diner not saying a word and stuffing their faces....

This movie is definetely a solid 5 of 5. Every detail of the movie was done perfectly. From the heros going at each other to their comedic dialogue, to the fight scenes. I saw The Avengers the day it came out and my expectations were pretty high considering it was filled with so many great actors. I was not disappointed. The story line was fantastic, it was very well-paced, and I had no idea I would laugh that much. It was hilarious, action-packed, and seeing it in IMAX 3-D made the experience fantastic. This is a must-see movie!

The movie did everything it was supposed to , which was hold my attention. Casting was on point and so were the costumes. The storyline was a little far fetched but so be. It was a very good film, I would go see it again, just without the 3D (paid about $16 a piece for the ticket). This movie would be great, regardless of it being in 3D or not. The jokes and dialogue were really good. Stark is the man, and Capt. America was placed well throughout the film. There weren't really any dull moments throughout the film.

Avengers was well worth the wait. Although waiting in a midnight line to see the premier was more about rubbing elbows with a 290ib 'Hulk' worried about whether the green would come off before he had to go to work, and listening to 'thor' and 'iron man' debate whether the sequel will match the earthly avengers in an outer space battle with Thanos, I am glad I made the event. The movie did a fine job of bringing the storylines of multiple characters together--highlighted by the introduction of the Hulk to the ensemble. The acting of Ruffalo stole the show, and played well into the interaction of the characters. Although the battle seemed short in relation to the length of the movie, the task of tying together multiple plots was easily achieved. If you are a Marvel fan, don't miss this movie.

I was hoping for a fun movie that didn't violate the story lines and tone of the other Marvel movies i.e. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Hulk. I think the Hulk's story and the tone of his character was much different than the Edward Norton character, but given the tone of The Avengers of building a team to save the world....well, it just worked for me. Everyone else stayed very true to the character they played in the stand along pics. I was also hoping that each character would get the right amount of screen time to make if feel like a true "team."
I thought Joss Whedon did a fantastic job at all of this...creating a team, staying true to the stand alones, creating an amazing new synergy between the characters...it was great.
Aside from all of that, it was just a great action movie. Fun and easy to watch. Outstanding!

Went with the family (8 & 10 Yr old boys, 15 year old girl, husband and wife). The special effects were EXCELLENT! Definately worth seeing. The humor was great, but not crude. It was nice that they didn't play up the T&A portions of the movie. Had limited cussing and good story line. Kept all of us engaged without me constantly covering my sons eyes!
All in all, great movie. Would definately see it again and seeing it in IMAX really enhanced it!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, t&a kept to minimum, adult humor but not crude, excellent special effects

There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. This movie was absolutely phenomenal. The right balance of screen time and development for each major character in the film, the perfect mix of action and dialogue, and the perfect blend of comedy and seriousness - a movie I'll definitely see over and over again. My only criticism - Nick Fury seemed to be less than awesome and a bit overshadowed by just about everyone else in this film, considering he's the leader of Shield, and is supposed to be pretty bad-ash on his own. But even that's understandable considering the characters by whom he was surrounded.
Bottom line, run don't walk to see this movie - 150% worth the price of admission!

Cons 3d was a bit unnecessary but imax is spot-on

We love 3D movies but this was our first time seeing an IMAX 3D movie. It was great. The special effects were awesome. Several times during the movie the audience gave spontaneous cheers and applause. The movies was really enjoyable.
