This is a great movie. If you like Superhero movies this is the one for you. Several great stars who do not try to one up each other. Great Camera and CGI and a story that does not disappoint.

Get the popcorn, soda, find your seat, turn the cellphone off, suspend your disbelief and be thoroughly entertained for two and a half hours.
Every character has their moment to shine, and the hulk actually has one of the best moments. Stark, Thor, and the Captain suffer alpha male syndrome which adds to the believability, and our two new characters hold their own.
3D was subtle but IMAX was worth it.
Must see in theaters... your tv isnt nearly big enough!!!

I took my family to see it at the IMAX 3D and it was well worth the price for the tickets. Great Movie!

We arrived in time for the previews but not in time to get seats appropriate to a satisfactory viewing experience. Why an IMAX theater would create rows of seats that are much too close for the movie to be viewed pleasingly is a mystery to me.
I have been to many IMAX theaters during my life. This is the first one that I have ever seen to place rows of seats this close to the screen.
You pay a premium to view a movie in an IMAX theater and even more for one that is displayed in 3D. To be unable to even make out the character's faces truly is a disappointment.
If you ever attend this particular theater and find that you are only able to sit in the first two rows I would suggest that you demand a refund.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The IMax 3D was gross. Everything about it was awesome. The movie is as most people have heard:badass. Even with the replacement of Ed Norton, the continuity worked very well, the story fit into place very well, and the landscapes they created were very real and detailed. My only complaint: they had so many intricate stories of the main characters, the overall plot seemed shallow and rushed. In fact, everything was rushed. I think that's just a side effect of trying to take decades of graphic novels and shove them into 2 hours and 30 minutes of action and decent plot. Still, an extremely entertaining movie.

Avengers genuinely surprised me over how good it was. Don't get me wrong, I was expecting it to be good, certainly hoping it would be as a fan of the genre and a dedicated comics reader but hope doesn't always translate to a good movie. This one though is a rare gem, a phenomenally good film, snappy, witty dialogue delivered by excellent actors, superb camera work, brilliant but not overdone special effects, fast-paced script, it's really really well done.
Thankfully the makers shied away from making it one colossal fight and just endless special effects; which is not to say there isn't a ton of fighting and special effects - there is but it never seems to intrude as it does in many movies; the film has a definite story to it and never bores.
It definitely benefits from the careful back story that's been laid in the previous marvel films but if you haven't seen them you shouldn't be left scratching your head in confusion (at least not too much).
It's definitely one for comic fans/nerds of all ages. The cinema we saw it in was packed with cheering, laughing, clapping fans - a great atmosphere to watch in and appreciate some of the best moments (Hulk slamming Loki back and forth into the floor); but there's still a lot to enjoy for any fan of SciFi or action movies generally.
Go see it you won't be sorry.

Easily one of he best films this year if not ever. The Avengers has been setting records left and right and one viewing of it will show you why. Excellent movie. The dialogue is laced with clever one-liners. Not many superhero movies have the audience laughing like this one does. On top of that, the big battle scene is appropriately epic. Like the earlier movies in the Avengers series, the teaser at the end leaves you wanting more. I've already seen it twice, and will probably see it again. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend this movie enough, it was phenomenal.
The pacing was perfect, I was never bored. In many "team" movies, the first half-hour is kind of boring, while they assemble the team. This movie was exciting and gripping from start to finish.
The action was amazing to watch, I couldn't get enough.
The dialogue was great, and I laughed out loud several times. This was funnier than a lot of comedies I've seen.
And stay until after the credits, after ALL the credits- that is the best part!

The 3D was great on the larger then life iMAX screen. The story and integration of the characters was well balanced. Special effects were great, all the visuals were stunning. The movie was long but with all the action packed adventure it went by at a comfortable pace. The comedic relief was great throughout the whole movie. I am looking forward to seeing it again and I can not wait till the next installment!

My family and I love these action comic book movies and are often left disappointed. There were a few lulls but over all a really great picture for the whole family to enjoy. Of Course we watched in 3D Imax which I highly recommend for this type of action movie :-D

Okay, let me start by saying I am not an action person. I like drama, dark comedy, horror, and suspense. I prefer a steamy romance to a fight scene any day, but this movie broke me of that. I cannot say enough good things about this movie! The acting was awesome, the special effects were perfect, and the fight scenes had me gasping and jumping! This movie is funny, scary at moments, and so action packed I didn't leave for one second. This movie is a definite hit with me (and my mom) and we will definitely be going to see the subsequent sequels!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

Terrific action from start to finish! Great comedy, laughed a lot with every one else in theater! Awesome relationships between the characters. From the first minute into the movie you are hooked, nothing else matters, cheering, laughing, claping. Fun and entertailning. We will be going to see it again, to see what we missed the first time! So much going on and so fast, you have to see it at least twice to catch everything.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, exciting, action packed

It lived up to all the hype. I can't wait to see it again. And if you did not see it in 3D on the IMAX screen, you definetly need to see it again.

The Avengers was a fantastic thrill ride filled with an amazing story to go along with some great performances, witty banter and phenomenal special effects. The movie is more than just a smash it up summer blockbuster. I was impressed with the storyline and the writing. This is a must see.

Very well written, good humor, well paced. The action scenes were not overdone or too long, unlike the last Transformers movie. IMAX is awesome. I could live without the 3D portion since face-paced scenes can tend to be blurry, but all in all good job.

The Avengers was absolutely amazing! The characters dynamic was well done and added loads of wonderfully funny dialogue to the movie. The action sequences were just astounding and combined the right amount of suspense with comedy. There was never a dull moment. I highly recommend the movie, it was well worth it.
