Johnny Depp can do just about any character. I loved him in this movie. I remember the soup opera years ago. I would recommend it to all Johnny Depp fans. The humor was great.

We really enjoy the IMAX and travel about and hour to watch Movies that we think are going to be really good. We were not let down. Johnny Depp did not let us down and even said little things that made us remember "Pirates of the Caribbean". The Movie was fun and the Music is great. We are already looking for the sound track. We have decided that their will be a part 2 to this movie but I won't tell you why. You will have to see this movie for yourself. Do yourself a favor and watch this. It's one of the best we have seen in a long time.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, funny, entertaining, family friendly

Excellent. I watched the soap opera series from the 60's when it was rerun on SciFi and saw the mini series that was on in the early 90's. This mostly held true to the original story line and it was great to see that.

Prior to this movie, all I knew about Dark Shadows was what my mom told me (since she used to watch the show when she was younger). I must say, I'm contemplating watching the old serious because of this movie. Johnny Depp was delightful, as always, and the storyline was engaging! I found myself laughing, on the verge of tears, and rooting for Barnabus! Definitely two thumbs up!

Movie was great! Good story line; good balance between the "drama" of the original Dark Shadows Soap Opera and comedy. Characters were interesting. Great job keeping the setting in the 70's, especially Collinwood's furnishings, the macrame, glass grapes on the coffee table, outrageous lamps and Michelle Pfeiffer's two tone, avocado-brown, coffee cup! Brought back memories! Johnny Depp did a great job! He's a superb actor.

The only problem that I had with this movie was that sometimes the dialogue was too quiet. Other than that, the movie was a riot! I loved it.
Unfortunately the experience wasn't the best. We got there on time. The lights were down in the theater but the screen was black. The staff forgot about us so it was 20 minutes after the scheduled time that they finally started the previews.

This movie was great entertainment and kept the story going all the way to the end. A lot of times, movies can be predictable but Dark Shadows was not predictable at all.
