Every movie Johnny Depp does it flawless. THe entire movie was well put togather, hillarious, and witty. The special effects were awesome.

I thouroughly enjoyed this movie. I saw the soap opera many years ago and this movie brought back all the memories. By making this a fish out of water comedy it added so much to the story. I would recommend this to everyone!

First of all let me say that I think Johnny Depp is an amazing actor. His role play is unique and very convincing.
This movie was good overall but it somehow lacked that something special that most movies with Johnny Depp offers.
When I left the theater thinking about the movie I was left with a adequate but not quite satisfying feeling.

A particularly strange outing, even for Burton/Depp, but up to their high standard. If you like their work, you will like this movie. It's very much treated in the style of a soap opera - except with monsters. Probably because it's based on a soap opera. It probably looks better in standard format than IMAX however. If you like the weird and well-made, you will enjoy it.

The backstory and plot attempted well to pull together references to Maggie Evans, the family werewolf (here not Quentin), Victoria's mysterious history, the townie bar, the cannery, and so on, and changes were made that evoked: "Well, that's not right!" There were glaring changes, that really transcended condensing all that material into a brief set of references, though: Roger was never such an inappropriate father, and Dr Hoffman's interest in Barnabas was never so salacious! Some pieces definitely went too far, in an attempt to update the material. All that said, the smiles and laughs the movie received were well-earned. Finally, the soundtrack was AMAZING!

Cons cameo by original dsers was much too brief, some inappropriate updates to material
