Whether your are a Marvel comic fan or not, you will enjoy this film. There is sufficient story and character development so that even the comic novice can follow what's going on. But if you're a Marvel enthusiast, then you already know this is the movie you've been waiting for! The additional levels of wit and humor written into the script, and also into the filming and artwork, just add wave after wave of new enjoyment. The writing is superb, and the acting doesn't disappoint. The pace is good, although intentionally slowed in the early scenes in order to tell the story well. It is then masterfully accellerated into a truly exhilarating climactic battle sequence with just the right amount of comic relief to remind you that these are comic book heroes, not mercenaries of death. Be sure to stay until the very end of the end credits!

Absolutely the most entertaining movie I have see for a very long time. Like the first Indiana Jones movie or original Transformer movie, it has a great blend of action and comedy. The special efforts are amazing, but unlike something like the Wrath of the Titans, the underlying story is exceptional, the dialogue is great. I have never been a Hulk fan but loved how the character was used in the movie. Robert Downey, Jr. is hilarious and awesome as Iron Man and helps balance the more serious team members, like Thor. Hope to get to know more about Hawkeye in future movies. Chris Evans's Captain America balances the ensemble cast and you can see the leadership qualities as the team comes together.Even Scarlett Johansson as Blsck Widow holds her own.Hope Josh Whedon stays at the helm of the series. Definiteky a movie I will go see a few more times while it is still in the theaters.

It's been a very long time since I have enjoyed myself so much while watching a movie! The Avengers is one of those films that comes out every so often and just straps you into your seat and says, Hold On! It is a thrilling roller coaster of a movie that completely entertains!
I hope other producers learn from this film. This is how to make an assemble movie. They cover all the bases with story, character development, acting, special effects, directing and the lkist goes on. You know a movie is very good when critics complain about the musical score, which by the way wasn't all that bad.
I can't wait to see Avengers 2!

Me and my husband took our kids to see this movie opening day for our son 5th birthday and i would have to say this movie had them so quite that I wished it was out on DVD already, LOL. I loved this movie and I hope they come out with a sequel.

I saw this movie in 3D when it came out at midnight and I have to say that I was impressed. The graphics were amazing and the extra scenes at the end were great. Once it was over I was ready to watch it again. There witty comments and amazing action blend so perfectly it makes me wish more movies could be like this. I am so going to go see this again.
P.S. There are two scenes after the movie. One is part-way through the credits and the other is at the very end of the credits. Make sure you stay for both. ;)

From start to finish this movies captures you. Marvel movies just keep getting better. Downey Jr. as Stark is again at his best and provides so much wit and humor you can't help but love him. All of the Avengers also provide at least one good line where I found myself laughing. But all comedy aside the is a visual feast from the go. A real dudes show, that even women can and will enjoy. I want to say something that I didn't like about the movie, but I can't, it really was just AWESOME! Half the theatre was full of 65+ people. Of course I did see it at 1 in the afternoon in Snow bird heaven Arizona! Unless this type of show has absolutely no interest for you, you will love it.
Clinch up Legolas, You're going for a ride with this one!

We stood in line for 2 hours and 45minutes to get tickets for this and it was worth every second of that time. Action packed from start to finish. Great Story, Great Actors, Great Camera Work, Special Effects were amazing and not overdone. Cannot wait to see it again!!! I had high expectations for this film and it definitely lived up to them. This movie is the perfect family fare. Just don't see it at a Marcus Ultra screen. While buying the tickets, the computer gave me the wrong day and they refused to refund part of my money. The theater was nice, but the volume was so low you could barely hear what they were saying, and we missed chunks of dialogue when the audience was responding to something that had just happened.
A completely mediocre movie-going experience, even with a great movie.

The movie was about Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki (who everyone thought died in the movie Thor) wanting to take over the world by any means necessary and all the superheros banning together (from a space ship) to stop him. This movie sold out everywhere. Get your tickets early.
This move had three hand applause from the audience and a standing ovation at the end. My kind of crowd. Bruce Banner who plays The Hulk, kicked it off when they asked him to get angry to help the rest of the Avengers fight what seemed like a losing battle and he replied "That's my secret, I am angry all the time." he turned into the Hulk and kicked butt. The second time was when the Hulk and Loki were face to face and Loki warned him that he was a God. The Hulk wiped the floor with his butt. The audience loved it. The third time came when The Hulk and Chris Hemsworth, who plays the unforgettable Thor, kicked butt together and as they stood in Victory, the Hulk knocked Thor out of the picture as if he just noticed him being around. It was crazy stupid. Thor did not disappoint his fans.
Iron man played by Robert Downey Jr. was hilarious as always. Hts off to the Black Widow, Samuel Jackson (supervisor) and the Eagle Eye Man as well.

Loved it. My boyfriend and I was amazed about how these guys got together to fight an common enemy. Our favorite parts were when: Loki tried to turn Stark into one of his minions and it didn't work; telling Hulk that he was God and the Hulk just took him and slammed him back and forth like a rag doll, lol.
We also like it when Captain America told Hulk to 'SMASH' which was Hulk's favorite thing to do.
Then when Hulk side punched Thor as payback, and at the very end when all the Avengers showed up behind Loki and he was surprised and realized that he can't beat the Avengers and he can't take over the earth. Can't wait to see the next one, this time with the rest of the Original Avengers starting with Atom and Wasp.

All of the marvel heroes coming together may seem like it wouldn't be good because of too much going on but it worked perfectly. The hulk was actually a big part of the movie too which I liked a lot. Not to mention great writing and surprisingly a lot of humor. I would recommend this movie to any body with eyes.

Its been years fans have died for a hero movie of this magnitude. Where many films of this sort have dated to travel yet always fallen to movie cliche but the avengers does not. While watching it was constantly barraged with clapping and laughter because of the amazing action and the true combination of several conflicting personalities. I have to say that this is now my favorite movie of all time.

By far the most action packed and entertaining superhero movie that I have ever seen in my life. Every superhero had his/her chance to shine and they did not disappoint. Once they all learned the concept of TEAMWORK, they commenced to kicking mucho azz. The film was suprisingly humorous, too. Oh, yeah, it is a definite must that I give big props to Scarlett Johansson. She was FINE AS HELL in this movie and was just as tough. If this movie doesn't gross at least 500 million within the first 45-60 days of its premiere, I would be greatly shocked. 'The Dark Knight' had better watch out. This movie will be close on its heels. BRING ON THE SEQUEL!

every now and then comes along a movie that takes the world by storm...this is that movie! Usually when a movie is so hyped up for so long..i walk out of the theater a little disappointed. NOT the case here...i wanted more...i didnt want it to end!! The acting was fabulous and the action was superb..and a few comedy moments that were side splitting....go see this...drop what you are doing and go see this!!! I am taking my son again tomorrow.

A great deal of fun to have all of these characters together in one film. It tries almost TOO hard to give everyone calm moments of dialogue to deepen characters and motivations, but as a whole it works quite well. It's nice to see Scarlett get a good chunk of time, but we get a bit of a short-shrift with Renner's Hawkeye, and nearly the same for Thor I felt. Iron Man, Cap and Loki have great parts, and Banner/Hulk positively steals the show. 3D added some great effect in the final battle. A couple of shockers, one after the main credits, and a fun scene at the end of the rest. Assemble your fanboy friends and go, soon!
