The movie starts a little slow but that's understandable because there are so many characters to bring in. The basic story is corny but that never stopped a comic book or a movie from being great. The action scenes are tremendous and handled perfectly. The script never takes itself to seriously and makes it fun to accept what could easily be ridiculous. The Hulk has finally arrived. The animation looks great as he arrives in his devastatingly violent self. He is also hilarious in it... and that is a good thing. He might rate a 3rd solo movie - if Josh Whedon writes the script. I thought Black Widow rated a movie after seeing Iron man 2 and now I am sure of it.
Go see this movie.

I'll admit I was never an Avengers fan before now. I always liked Iron Man but the others were never characters I was interrested in. Then along came this movie and I freaking LOVED it! The effects are gorgeous, the acting is superb, the banter between the characters is well timed and believable. The storyline is well paced, fun and action packed. Not for one second was I bored.
I don't know how well it follows the storylines of the comics but for someone who's only watched the movies it's an absolute masterpiece. See this movie. You won't regret it. ^__^

Could almost be catagoised as a comedy as well as an action film. It had some helarius scenes mixed in with the action which made it my favorite film of the year!

This movie is GREAT!!! Great actors, great dialogue. Action packed, funny at times. Just keeps you engaged from the first moment to the last. It's 2 hrs. 22 min. long, but you leave wanting even more. GREAT MOVIE!!!!

The movie was a Hit Maker to start off the pre-summer movie madness. The characters did a great job with their roles and they were all terrific. I enjoyed the special effects, the fight scenes and the comedic lines. The characters came together to work as a team which really was a Great way to unite as One. The movie was unlitmately perfect.

This movie was everything and more than I expected. With the possible exception of needing a more buff/ripped Captain American, it was great. The Hulk rocks as does Bruce Banner. Downey is great as IronMan. His wry wit is more powerful than his weapons. I would see this again and again.

We saw the 3D version last night. The story is very well written and moves along nicely. Once The Avengers sort out their relationships they work well as a team and their are some fun interactions! The 3D effects are reasonable and while not in the entire movie, they happen when it is appropriate. I have to see this movie again and it is a keeper when it comes out on Blu-Ray!

What can I say, reading comics books from an early age using my imagination to fill in the story from a 2D panel and limited dialogue to a live action movie that made me feel like I was back in my teen years again. Cheering and clapping and sometimes even gasping they got it right, nuff said.

This movie was excellent. Brought together the entire group of movies over past few years regarding the main Avengers characters from Marvel comics. The action and effects were impressive. The acting was good and quite honestly there was some humor that had the crowd laughing. I am not overly into 3D, I just don't see it as an extra value, but the movie was excellent. I would see it again a few times at the theatre and already look forward to it on blu-ray.

This was a fun movie. Mark Ruffalo did a great job as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Had some funny one-liners! Already planning on buying the BlueRay Disc when it comes out!

The Avengers is a 2 hour and 20 minute action packed, fun ride. The beginning is a bit slow, but I think this was needed as it introduces you to the characters backgrounds. Probably needed since all who come to see this will not be familiar with the comics and other movies. The story is good, though the villain, Loki, just looks silly most of the time when compared to the other characters. The film bogs down a bit in the middle and could be about 20 minutes shorter. The 3D was very good, but not necessary to enjoy the movie. As for special effects, the Hulk was the best animation of his character yet. He seemed more lifelike and not the poor rendering we have seen in the past. Ironman was still the draw. His character and personality, though obnoxious, is alway fun. The charter of David Banner was done well and showed the great extremes between he and the Hulk. All and all, a good, fun, summer movie. Stay through the credits, a new must in movies, to see the teaser of Part 2.

A great compliment to the many stand alone 'origin stories' this one takes established characters and ties them all together in one big adventure. Plenty of action and a good story as well. Totally recommended!
