Well acted, but very slow and predictable. Kept waiting for something unexpected to happen, but it never did. Save your money and wait for it to be released to HBO, etc.

The Words delivered much more than expected for a PG-13 rated movie. While this film is wholesome, it is anything but boring. Woven through the fabric of this interesting story is a unique view of life-choices, human flaws, regrets and consequences from adult perspectives. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

I had high hopes for this film with the great actors, but I was a bit disappointed by the story. It was just not quite there. The story was just a bit flat for me. Compared to what's out there, it isn't too bad, but I think they could have done more with it.

The basic story - plagerism and its consequences - was an interesting twist on a classic moral struggle. The "why he did it" was believable, as the desire to succeed and to be perceived as a success, is a temptation that is hard to resist, especially when the odds of getting caught cheating are slim-to-none. This part of the movie was compelling.
What didn't work was the portion of the film that dealt with the over-complication of another author supposedly reading this story as if he had written it himself. There was no "ah-ha" moment that followed in this storyline, and so, the pay-off was absent. The scenes with Dennis Quaid and Olivia Wilde seemed as if they were shot by a different director and cinematographer - almost jarring, as they take you out of the "real story". While you have to applaud the effort of the writer to make a clever script, this part could have been eliminated in its entirety.
Acting-wise: Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana are a gorgeous couple, and their on-screen chemistry was sexy and classy.
Ultimately, worth seeing. A great conversation-starter re ethics and consequences.

This movie offered a totally new and unique perspective on plagiarism and the long term consequences. Along the way , we witness at least two poignant love stories, one poignant old man, and a tale of irony that is so unusual as to be totally unique.
Do not believe the silly critics who say this story is told to journalism students. This story has never been told before.
This movie was so well written, so well cast, so well directed, so well acted, and so well scored that it can only be characterized as a true "MASTERPIECE".
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, lovely score, no cons

I was warned this movie got bad reviews from Rotten Tomatoes, but I found it enjoyable, suspenseful and memorable. The acting was excellent, and the storyline, moving, and relatable. Life is full of decisions and the consequences of them. This story helps us to analyze the long term lessons and regrets we all face in our decisions. How our decisions don't just impact us, but our families and beyond. It is one of the unique gems that has a message about integrity woven within, which is rare find in our day. Loved it and highly recommend seeing!
