See this movie!
It's funny but also pretty darn serious. I think this movie will do well and has wide appeal. I enjoyed the story tremendously.

Mike Birbiglia has a very appealing personality, so it is a pleasure to spend 90 minutes with him. Lauren Ambrose is excellent as his long-suffering girlfriend. While I enjoyed the movie, I preferred the one-man show on which it was based because it had better focus and allowed you to fill in details with your imagination.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

Mike Birbiglia and Lauren Ambrose showed great emotion and connection. I was proud of them for making good and tough decisions. Showed the quality of the characters and really taught hard lessons about family and relationships.

I had the chance to attend a screening where Mike Birbiglia opened the show with a Q&A. I was impressed by the writing as well as the comic timing and deadpan delivery of many of the jokes.

Good movie... It actually stands on its own... But oddly, I kept thinking 'This is like a suburban version of Jo Jo Dancer... ". Good story and well told. I could see Ira Glass' influence clearly but it still retained the star's story telling and humor.
Captured the experience of many a liberal arts major's reality checks and the process of 'growing up'. We either push on through with our initial dreams or come to the realization that maybe we actually want something else.
Obvious theme of how complex but simple our relationships can be ong the way... (understatement implied)

Very well acted, very well scripted comedy that has its serious side as well. Although the title suggests it's mostly about sleepwalking, it is actually mostly about the vagaries of relationships, and why they do or don't work. I would like to have seen a little more about Matt's mindset in not wanting to commit to his girlfriend, despite having been with her for eight years. She is the "good" character in this movie, and I couldn't see anything in her that would make him not want to marry her in a heartbeat. Perhaps a little more about why she would want to stay with him, as he was neurotic, came from neurotic parents, etc. Great featured performances by Carol Kane and Kristin Miliotis (lovely to see her in such a different role from her role in "Once" on Broadway). I thought that James Rebhorn was good as usual, but he was directed to be too one-sided. If he were really that p.o.'d all the time, I think he'd have a heart attack! All in all, I highly recommend this movie and am glad I saw it.
