This is a quirky movie, i.e., not your average plot line, that I'd say is about being an outsider, being a dreamer, being different, being a bit weird. There are a variety of characters, and there is humor. But for me the story just didn't work well. I couldn't identify with any of the characters, so it was hard to root for anyone. I know it was supposed to, but for me there just was an emotional payoff for the hour and a half of time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Though Safety Not Guaranteed is comfortable and pleasing, it's also amazingly fresh, concentrating on its characters and emotions rather than on a collection of visual effects, genre staples, or gratuitous thrills. Part road movie, part romance, part coming-of-age comedy and part something entirely its own, "Safety Not Guaranteed" is an unexpected pleasure. Delightful proof that money and fame have nothing on ingenuity and wit, "Safety Not Guaranteed" is worth a million meaningless blockbusters. Even if it cost millions less than any one of them. A must see.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

This is a very romantic movie about the length to which people who were once in love go through to recapture the moment. It's also about the power to believe and overwhelming doubt we all live our lives with. I found myself at the edge of my seat during this film because it's unpredictable and fresh in so many ways. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi or romance.
