We enjoyed the premise of this movie, some humor and some food for thought. THe attachment between Frank and the Robot was intriguing and touching. Not the usual movie.
I am still processing the ending of the movie.

I went to see this wondering what it would truly be like but the cast was good, so I went for it. Truly a well written movie with top notch acting and dialogue.

This movie had all that makes an excellent movie--good acting, special effects that weren't excessive, clever dialogue, story with multiple themes. However, what's revealed shortly before the end just didn't ring true. Other than that, it's an real treat.

Frank Langella is seamless in his depiction of an older gentleman whose mind is not always doing what he would like it to do. Marsden and Tyler are terrific as concerned kids trying to do what's right, or convenient, by their dad. Susan Sarandon is engaging and lovable, and the Robot is terrific, with a personality that takes over the screen when he/she/it should. The viewer finds himself (or in my case herself) drawn in to the plot, hoping for a conclusion that is good to everyone. The conclusion that is reached is logical, fair, and delightful. This is a quiet little movie with a big bang of emotions. Beautifully acted and filmed.
Pros great story, great actors, great robot!
