The movie was great kept me on the edge of my seat, or should I say in my husbands arm pitt.. Haha only down fall for both my husband and I was the ending could of been a little better. But all in all very good movie

The movie started out kinda cool but then went slow and I have to say that most of the scary parts where in the previews that were on tv. It had a couple jumping parts but other than those it was a typical scary movie. It did however had one part I was no expecting which was a little creepy. You almost could guess the end of the movie about half way through it. If you like these kind of movies for the story line it did have a decent story but if your looking for the completely creepy and disturbing factor it really isn't there. The ending was about the best part of the movie.

Even though the movie started out a little slow, the build up of suspence and scary moments made up for it. The acting was not the greatest but it did not distract to much attention from the movie itself.

This movie was pretty creepy, the story was a little twisted, could have been a little scarier with effects or startling parts. Was a little slow getting started.

This movie was outstanding. One of the scarier movies I have seen in a while. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and I was scared when I didn't expect to be. It was very unpredictable until you got to the end, you could predict the outcome. If you like horror movies this is a MUST see. Great movie!

There is definitely something sinister ging on in "Sinister" the Ethan Hawke film about a true-crime writer who stumbles upon the case of a lifetime. I will not give away any plot point because this film should be enjoyed for its bold storytelling and a commanding performance by Hawke. Let's just say it will scare the crap out of you.

Sinister is about a true crime writer (Hawke) who moves his family into the former home of the family who is the subject of his latest project. What he gets in the progress is much more than he bargained for. What at first appears to be serendipity, soon turn to horrifying regret...but is it too late for he and his family to get out alive? Sinister at least makes an attempt to apply original execution to a not so original concept. How different is this from Amytiville Horror or even The Shining, which is obviously a great influence for this film? If you've seen those, you have seen sinister. Not as original as Cabin in the Woods or as ambitious as Insidious, but I would still recommend Sinister to the advid moviegoer who didn't get enough "thrills and chills" during their midnight first run screening of Paranormal Activity 4. Excuse the typos, doing this from my phone.

I'm not usually a big horror movie fan, so seldom would take the time to rate one, but I really enjoyed Sinister yesterday. First, big points for the trailer cutters because that's the only reason I even was interested - good trailers! But I loved the story, just enough intrigue and suspense for my taste, and kept wondering throughout what would happen next, felt the tension in the theater wondering how it would all turn out (and there were several moments when the audience screamed - guess that's a good sign). I definitely would consider this a movie worth seeing even if you don't like the horror genre - it's a good suspenseful film.
