The movie isn't perfect, but it's not bad either. There's a little bit of everything; action, suspense and comedy. If you like hero type movies you'll like this one. The way the movie is shot puts the viewer in a position where we can imagine being one of the characters.

I'm so tired of the "hand held camera" movies, but this one was surprisingly good. It build up pretty quickly and the last 30 minutes was pretty crazy. Felt like it was much shorter.

The FX are definitely the star of this film. Some really cool effects but nothing we really haven't already seen before. I guess I'm still more easily impressed when FX are done on what look likes video instead of film. It gives such an amazing sense of realism to the film. However, that's where my liking of this movie ends.
The story line was simple but gave no insight to what was happening. I guess the story was supposed to be more about the friendship between the lead characters, but I was left wondering what it was all about when the movie ended.

very real story about how adolescents might use or abuse power. Tough look at the devastating effect of abusive parent depicted so well by Kelly & DeHaan. hand-held camera made it all the more real. Particularly well done and kudos to the budget! Special effects compared quite well to blockbuster budgets.

The storyline was very cool, but the camera work was terrible. It looked as though it had been shot entirely with a home video camera. I do realize that was the premise intended, but nonetheless my wife and I both had a headache by the time we left the theater from the jittery camera work.

I would recommend this movie because I love movies exploring telekinetic powers. The basic storyline is teenagers stumble across what appears to be a meteor and obtain telekinetic powers that grow over time. The tortured lead character Andrew eventually spirals out of control with the use of his power. Ending sets up the movie for a sequel. Definitely recommend to go see this movie!

You'll probably enjoy "Chronicle." I did. Very cool special effects, interesting story line, a young cast of (mostly) newcomers, and generally likable characters (except Andrew's dad). It's the kind of exciting action picture you go to the movies to see. With that said, it's not going to win any Oscars, and doesn't pretend to want one. It's got teen angst, social outsider / outcast drama, comic book-style storytelling, and -- in the end -- even a superhero sub-text. You've seen it all before, but this is a new re-mix. The house was packed and the audience seemed to enjoy the show. Cool movie ... but not the best one you'll see in 2012. Go into it expecting nothing more than 90 minutes of entertainment, and you'll get your money's worth. I wouldn't urge a friend to see it, but if one told me he planned to go, I wouldn't try to stop him, either. Enjoy!

This movie is awesome! I have heard the comments about the special effects, but I found them refreshing and realistic. Largely, I feel as though I cannot stand the overuse of CGI. The special effects along withe manner in which it is filmed provide a realistic view of the special abilities the characters possess. The "footage" genre worked well with it as well. The action sequences were amazing. I was reminded of Akira in watching it. I will be seeing it again, and I recommend it others as well. AWESOME!!

Yes, this is another first-person camera movie, similar to Cloverfield and Blair Witch. It's about teens who discover an alien object in a cave, probably made after a meteor crashed, but none of that is revealed. In fact, the only things revealed in this movie are the things that can be captured by real cameras, such as those in security systems, those being operated by the characters in the scenes, and those being levitated by the super teen affected by the alien rock.

Chronicle is an excellent superhero film that revitalizes the found footage genre. The camera work is interesting but some scenes tend to stick out as being too forced. However, its difficult to provide the audience with different point of views in found footage films. The character development was excellent and I found that by the end of the film, I actually cared about each of the three main characters. Given its small budget, the CGI looks good and excels in many scenes. Chronicle is an excellent movie that is original and down to earth.

Caught a sneak peak of this and I have to say I was pretty blown away. Inventively directed, cleverly written and superbly acted fantasy thriller that brilliantly mashes up the superhero, found footage and high school genres to terrifically entertaining effect.
A stunning superhero/sci-fi that has appeared out of nowhere to demand your immediate attention. A must see!
