I enjoyed watching this movie as a man in a theatre full of women. I thought the actors and story were believable. Only complaint would be the female leads acting.

I went with four friends and I listened to the discussions after the movie in the theater. It seems none of the women cared about the story line in the least, and most were unhappy there weren't more actual sex scenes. I heard lots of complaints that there wasn't enough actual stripping, but I feel they did put as much as they could in the movie since there are time constraints. A lot of women were displeased with the ending as well.
Personally I thought all the males did great, and were good eye candy. As far as the story line, I admit it wasn't really important to me but the humor and banter between the guys and with the females was funny. I will probably buy the DVD just to watch my favorite parts.

This very easily could have been a made for TV movie. There was nothing really of a sotry, and highly predictible towards the middle to end of the movie.
Each of the actors were good with what they had to work with, but there are a couple of the main characters that only had two or three lines... Matt Bomer's character had only one line that I saw.
They underused and over casted this movie.
The sancing was sub par or perhaps the same that you would see at an average stip club.... but I don't see the excitement.
Channing Tatum defiantely did the best of all the actoras in that he seemed to have the best part and was directed properly... but considering he was a producer, this would have been the case. Only in two scenes does he really act to a point that is good.
I don't think this movie was the fault of the actors. I think turth be told, there was a great deal left on the editing floor. I also think Stephen Sodoburgh was asleep at the wheel - this is his worse work by far. I am very spurised at how bad his directing was.
Go if you want to see some fast shots of good bodies, but in no way a good story and character development nor any good plot or good acting.

The movie overall was fine. It was a bit slow at times and you couldn't hear what they were saying in some of the scenes. It's wasn't very provacative like I would have thought. Instead of having 1 main character they tried to focus on 3. I really liked all the actors so it made the movie worth watching. I would suggest that your rent this movie and watch it at home to get the full effect. We had a very noisy bunch at the theater and the projector kept malfunctioning so the picture was split on the screen many times. I will rent it just to see it without all the interuptions.

This movie was a great one to see with a bunch of women. The acting was not all that great but the dancing sequences were fantastic. I was a tiny bit disappointed at the ending and wish that it had tied up some other loose ends. Overall I would recommend seeing it because what can be wrong about seeing lots of buff men in g-strings?

Being a senior citizen, I loved this movie because it was great eye candy but in the underlying story there is a great lesson to be learned. All young people should see this movie. You are only young once and most young people love to be loved and idolized in some way - be in men or women. It shows the dangers of too much too soon. Tatum Channing was excellent in this movie - even better than his other movies because he showed more depth in this one. Matthew McConaughey - a favorite always - was so over the top sleazy - he was great !

Plenty of eye candy for the woman for sure. The main female character is LAME! Mike could do much better! The men are beautiful and fun to watch. Loved the music and dance moves. Story line was not very interesting. Loved Channing and Matthew's characters! Didn't really expect much of a story line anyways so wasn't disappointed. But it was fun being in the theater with so many women having a good time. It was fun.

I expected a lot more stripping. The story line was ok, but really dragged in the middle. The main actress was horrible for the role. There were really good parts and I'd suggest it for a fun girls night out, but don't expect as much strippping as the previews suggest.

While some people are expecting this to be a night at the strip club, it actually has a story line. Channing's accounts of his stripper life is pretty interesting. My husband attended the movie with me and found it to be a great movie being there was a plot and it wasn't just mommy porn.

The movie is a great flick for a girls night out. It was extremely fun to watch especially because the main characters are handsome.

It's not "just a stripper movie". While the plot isn't as developed as you normally see in a movie, I think it is probably an accurate portrayal of this kind of life style, so it keeps your interest. The actors are fantastic, sexy, etc. etc. The dance moves are phenomenal. Seeing this movie in a theater was so much fun because you are there with a couple hundred other women, so it's like one big party. What I found funny was that the reaction of the audience was on par with the reactions of the women IN the movie. This movie DEFINITELY had me excited. I plan on going to see it again next weekend with a few girlfriends who haven't seen it yet. Definitely the best movie for a girl's night hands down.
I just wish this movie was in 3D lol.
Pros great story, great actors, dance moves!

The movie was awesome! The story line was a lot better than I thought it would be, however, there was about 20 minutes or so that they didn't quite keep our attention. The story takes a bit of a walk down a weird path for a few minutes and the lack of half dressed men during that part made it a bit slow. But, just when you think it's getting to the breaking point they make up for it with some more dance scenes. If you take the movie for what it is (a good excuse to look at some really HOT actors wearing next to nothing and showing some serious dance moves) then you won't be disappointed. It was thoroughly worth my time and I will see it again with friends who weren't able to go the first time. :)

Not worth your time and money, if you like a movie that represents only part of what it advertised in the previews then this is for you. Striptease with Demi Moore had a better story line and stayed true to the title. Magic Mike was not so magical. This movie did not do the hype it received any justice. Channing Tatum was the only true talent, even Matthew McConaughey gave a poor showing. Overall just a bad story, and poor acting really put out any flame that was flickering when I first saw the preview for this movie. It's really a shame, the women in this movie showed more off then the men, I thought it was supposed to focus on the male stripping industry, not the ridiculous comings and goings. The movie lacked talent. Really not impressed. What a shame.
Pros channing tatum, short showtime., male eye candy
Cons bad acting, not true to previews, bad storyline, matthew mcconaughey, terrible plot, too jumpy, bad camera work, previews showed the best parts.

Bodies that didn't quit!!! This is a great movie for the girls to go see! When I saw it, men were coming with their ladies, and yes there is eye candy for the men. But there is more eye candy for women!!!

Didn't get bored one time. This movie never lost my interest haha just wish they'd made a happier ending with Mike, and explained his story in more detail. Wish it would've ended with him getting his loan for his business or have him open up his own stripclub! : )

I was excited to see this movie with my girlfriends. All four of us ended up being super bored after the first hour. This is coming from a lover of all kinds of movies. I would say I'm a tough critic. But I really didn't have high hopes and I was some how let down. Close ups of the face for dramatic affect was in needed. Just not a movie with an intense dramatic plot. Stripping scenes were great but eventually you got bored of watching them. Plot was predictable and unrealistic. Jokes ehhh. Didn't save the movie that's for sure.
