Judging how great the first Taken movie was, I really expected so much more than what I got, while watching Taken 2. It wasn't horribe or anything, it just didn't meet all the hype that was surrounding it. I'd still recommend everyone to see it, though! It kept my attention the whole time!

This is the most annoying movie I´ve ever seen lol.....It has a "Superman" style - the main character always kills all enemies - at least 10 at the same time :-) He always kills the enemy by the first shot but none of the millions bullets shot by others never hit him :-D The story is totally unreal and nonsense....It´s more like a parody - my friend and I were really dying laughing all the time...sorry

We always like to see the good guys whip up on the bad guys and that is certainly the case here. When will those eastern Europeans wise up to the fact that they can't mess with Liam Neeson's character and live to tell about it?
Like most movies of this type there is a lot of stuff in it that is totally unbelievable and could never happen in real life. But you just have to look past all that stuff and roll with it.
And I just don't see Liam Neeson and Famke Janssen producing a daughter who looks like Maggie Grace. But that's ok too. I like all three of them and they are fun to watch.
The first third of the movie sets the stage and once the action starts it is non-stop and pretty intense, even for me. I found myself getting somewhat uncomfortable during some of the scenes in that I was really worried about the outcome for some of the characters. So obviously the film makers had me somewhat convinced it was really happening.
Most of it takes place in Ankara, Turkey, and the settings were very interesting and unusual.
My gf also really liked it but she is an action junkie too.

I had high expectations about this movie, and was glad that it did not fail. I think everyone did a very good job in the direction of this movie. I am glad that I was able to see it during opening weekend.

Lot of action and Liam is really great as you would expect. The daughter is a rising star, some great acting, some not so good, I blame the director for that. The movie is based in one location, Instanbul, which was great to see, but I generally feel shorted and dull from a one location movie. This is basicly a vengence movie so it's a little on the immature side. Comparatively, the first movie was exceptional because, for one, it brought to light the reality of the dark underworld of young women trafficing in this world - its sophistication, power of money, and perversion - second, the international, multi-location, government corruption side gave it a lot of interest, facits, that this movie doesn't give you. If Taken3 can move back into that somehow that would make for a great Taken3. Anyway, this movie kind of left us flat and wondering at the end. Pretty heavy critic here, but I like these kind of movies and really like Liam so if you are of similar mind then you will like it too!

Although the premise is nowhere as strong as in Taken, its the action and sheer screen presence of Liam Neeson that makes this well worth seeing. Much of the surprise and innovation of the first movie are impossible to duplicate, but the action and excitement of the concept are still very much there in every fast paced, well edited scene. The movie is a clear set up for a third sequel probably already in the works, and as soon as it debuts I will see it even if it will be totally predictable at that point. Its that much fun to see Liam as an action star. And Luc Besson is the master of this genre.
Even when you know exactly where a scene is taking you, its like a familiar roller coaster ride and just as exciting. If you have seen the first film, this one will not disappoint.

I know we were all expecting this movie to be great because of the first one and I think that we were let down a little. It was still a very good movie just not great or amazing. I will still buy it on DVD and watch is a thousand times though

This was a very enjoyable experience. I don't know why people are complaining about the predictability of the plot. It is a sequel, Dummy. Of course it will be a predictable, similar plot. Nice tie-in via references to the first Taken. A bit unbelievable at times, especially when the daughter is performing precision stunt driver maneuvers after failing her driving test numerous times. But, who cares? It is not a documentary. It is an action film, and there is plenty of it! This movie did not disappoint. It was just what I went to see, and it satisfied. Anyone who gave negative reviews had either unreasonable expectations or shouldn't go to action films! If you enjoyed the first Taken, this one is well worth the ride. Don't wait for RedBox. Go see this on the big screen!
