I was a little disappointed at the less than real story. To much hype added to make it thrilling entertainment. The true story was hype enough. No a historical document as was "Lincoln".

You cannot help watching a movie through a different lens when you see it after it has won a slew of awards, especially Best Picture. Argo is very well done, professionally acted and well written. While nothing stands out as amazing, save the on point art direction, the movie does everything well.

One of the best movies I have seen a long time. It showed some of the background of what really happen in Iran. Though we as Americans did not have to suffer under the Shah, he was the lesser of two evils, just look "what" replaced him. A must see movie!

Excellent movie. I was in the Royal Canadian Navy as a junior officer and we took the Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor and his wife to Sacramento on the HMCS Qu'Appelle in the spring of 1980 for an official reception. What a party! Nice to see a great movie that is based on a true incident, not fiction, and no crazy special effects, just a great story. Too bad some of the details about the Shah were not correct but this wasn't meant to be a documentary film. Hard to believe the American Embassy was so poorly prepared for the events. Lots has changed since then I hope.

Ben Affleck continues to mature as a director and this has got to be one of the best historical movies EVER! I never thought he was a great actor but even in that area Affleck manages to do a decent job playing the lead character. Highly recommend this film, definitely think it should win Picture of the Year.

It doesn't matter at all that you know the ending before even stepping in the theater (sorry if that's a spoiler). Everything about this movie was just great. Ben got dissed with no oscar nod for directing but he absolutely deserved it. GREAT MOVIE!
