This movie was perfectly created! There is not one scene in the movie that is considered an 'extra scene' or 'wasted reel time'. Every scene is vital to the movie's storyline. The movie had me reeled in from the very first scene all the way to the last scene.
I give it 5 stars!

Very similar in scope to 28 Days but without the gratuitous gore. Great suspense and action packed though Brad Pitts role at times seems a tad lack luster. Otherwise well done film.

Each step of the way takes too much lame dialog and poor acting to explain. The most interesting effects can be seen in the trailer, free. Brad has always been a great actor, but this effort was a money grab for sure.

nicely paced, realistic action, good story overall (though the "zombie" thing is a little played out in my opinion). They did a very good job with it. They kept it away from the typical zombie movie. It did a good job at keeping you guessing, it never let you get too settled in to one situation.

Much different than I expected... I read that they delayed the movie to make cut 12 minutes of the biggest fight scene in order to give it a more "reunion with his family"... well they blew it. Brad Pitt character acts like an almost defenseless commoner than a tough ex UN war fighter (which he supposed to be). Even my wife, who is a fan of Pitt, agrees and goes further about how "weak" he acts in this movie.
The only truly innovative thing about the movie is the infected people, the zombies... the movie industry finally realized that fresh dead zombies would be able to go into a never tiring track star and do so like a starved rabid animal let loose on succulent live stock! I said this about zombie seen in movies over the years and always wondered why the directors never had the vision to make "fresh dead" zombies run and move very fast but they could use all their other senses very well, like smell.... anyway a huge let down, they should have never cut the huge 12 minute fight scene for the chic flick BS ending. I only hope that they include the cut fight scene in the DVD release.

After seeing the movie, I think we all agreed that we're not fans of fast zombies. The action was over the top, like a zombie blur that looked more cartoonish than scary.
I was underwhelmed with the main character's performance, but felt that the rest of the acting was pretty good.
Aside from that (and the fact that passengers in a crashing plane never put their oxygen masks on), it was worth the price of a ticket.

It almost seemed like I was watching "2012" again except with Zombies!

The movie was to slow to get to a point. The action was good but falls short of entertainment. I did not like this movie but the people I was with thought it was just OK.

I thought this movie was terrible. The acting was so-so, not convincing enough that the young girls were even afraid. The camera was too jumpy during the zombie attack scenes. I would not recommend this movie to anyone.

I spent most of the movie with my eyes partially covered, sunken into my chair!! It was very emotionally intense and action-packed!

This is a decent movie. Didn't go into enough detail but overall a good action movie. I thought they would have followed the book a little bit but didn't seem to recognize hardly anything. A little too many close ups on Mr. Pitt.
I was disappointed that it didn't follow the book which was excellent. Highly recommend reading.

Fun movie, tongue in cheek humor. Brad Pitt saves the world. Yeah!! Silly plot but intriguing zombies. Really takes one's mind off reality.

Brad Pitt's interpretation of a reluctant hero is probably the closest to his actual persona and therefore very well received! It was serious and ridiculous all at the same time and not taken for granted by any actor or writer.... Thoroughly enjoyable thrill ride !!!!

My son and I (who did NOT read the book) thought it was pretty good. Fast paced, intense, action, story line, but my husband and 2 sons (who DID read the book) thought it did not keep to the book or the Zombie genre as a whole, and were disappointed.
So far as an action movie, it's pretty good. If you're going because of the book, you may be disappointed.
Now as a mom, who has taken her younger boy (10 yrs old) to a few PG-13 movies (Iron Man, Avengers etc) I thought this one was going to be ok for him too. In hindsight, I should not have taken him. It wasn't gory or anything, but there was suggested gore. And it was very much a jump in your seat a few times for him and I. And he buried his head a few times. SO use caution for younger viewers.
