Boy, those zombie actors sure had it good! Must be fun to stagger around in massive make-up and uttering all kinds of guttural moans! Best acting was done when Pitt and zombie looked each other in the face without bursting out laughing.
OK- the story is another take on zombies and how to combat them. Once again one has to suspend disbelief with big transports taking off from small aircraft carriers!( I know, one has to suspend disbelief in a zombie movie anyway!) I was unable to really "get into" this movie as I did some of the other zombie flics, but so be it. Not a horrible way to spend 2 hours of your lifetime.

Great acting; zombies looked so real, but moved a lot faster than I would have imagined; impressive scene with the thousands of zombies climbing over each other to get into Jerusalem; would have liked more detail on the vaccination and more closure to the zombies at the end. Not too scary for people who hate thrillers but had just enough to get your blood moving. There were a few comical moments I think that were intentionally thrown in there. Brad Pitt played a good part and if you don't like him, don't see the movie. He's pretty much the main actor that matters throughout the whole flick. The only thing is I wished the ending had more closure. I think they're leaving it open for more movies.

I honesty didn't know what the story was about before hand, and I'm glad I didn't because I probably wouldn't of gone. With that said, it was actually a pretty good movie. Scary yes, but nothing too graphic. Well done.

Guys will love it--zombies, big guns, high body count, car chases, very little romance. I agreed to see it because I love my guys. Must admit I enjoyed it. Decent story line, sustained suspense, great visuals and a scruffy Brad Pitt (it works, Girlfriends). Very loud. Beats another Die Hard, Fast & Furious or Hangover if you need to take one for the team.

Brad Pitt does an excellent job in this full-length zombie feature. Lots of energy goes into the explanation of how the zombies were created and what the zombie world is like. The action Has a great flow of slowing down and speeding up to make a believable flick. I only wish it were an even longer movie, just as it gets going it's time for it to end.

I'm very disappointed that the movie is nothing like the book. Nonetheless, I think the movie stands pretty well on its own. Yes, it's another zombie movie, but its got a few new tricks. I was able to connect with at least one of the characters at all times(unfortunately it was rarely Brad Pitt's), and that's all I really need to get into a movie.

I had such high hopes for this movie, as I'm sure most people did. It's not that it was a bad movie, I'd probably still recommend it but with many reservations. My biggest problem with the movies (and this isn't a spoiler) is that 5 minutes into the movie the entire planet is being overrun by tens, maybe millions of zombies. Did they just evolve overnight? Life is going on as usual that morning, everyone is fine, and then out of nowhere, every country on earth is under attack. How could this have happened with no advance warning? The fact that this happened along with the fact that they never tell how people came to be like this pretty much ruined it for me.
Sorry Brad, you didn't pull it off.

Seriously Hollywood, sit down and watch "The Walking Dead" or any number of the George Romero films. Running\Climbing zombies? Right.
Critical mission to find patient zero and save the human race: Send a team of one doctor, one pilot, a movie star\former UN employee and two Navy SEALs. Way to load up for bear. The story was AWFUL and had nothing to do with the book.
The zombies weren't even really scary, more of a laugher. Even minor details like where the patient zero was located, switched from China in the book to South Korea. Israel being overrun in the movie? That seems like another Hollywood attempt at self censoring the powerful story that Max Brooks wrote.
To sum up, mildly entertaining, awful story. Leaving out the Battle of Yonkers, simply criminal.

Zombie movies is a genre that lends itself to some of the finest low-budget filmmaking, and has launched the careers of many of the finest directors. So I was looking forward to seeing what could be done in this genre with A-list stars and a seemingly unlimited budget. From this example, it doesn't help. It was a good action-packed thriller, but like so many action movies, it starts to wear thin in the middle. Sometimes I judge movies by whether I look at my watch in the middle, wondering when it will be over, and with this movie I looked at my watch a few times. WWZ is escapist summer entertainment, but for this viewer, it is little more than that.

I expected this movie to be a large-scale summer blockbuster along the lines of Independence Day but it is far from that. With so many zombie movies and TV shows lately, the plot is familiar but not in a bad way. The action sequences are extremely fast but most of the responses of the characters are way too fast too - there is no panic or confusion when it would be even minimally expected. Brad Pitt is OK in the movie but the main story line is fairly thin (that he is mostly concerned about his family, not the annihilation of the planet).
It is an OK movie, not a total waste of money or time but you will not leave the theater with a very satisfied feeling.

Much like "I am legend", this movie gives credence to the "Fast Zombie" scenario as being tenable over the "slow zombie" tradition. It does entice me to pick up the book it is based on for more details (which is a credit to its making). It's a bit thin on the ending, that the approach found to the issue doesn't really close the issue at hand ... perhaps they needed room for 'sequel'. I think treatment of the Brad Pitt family was a bit week in the plot. All of the situations did need a suspension of belief, but not too much for an action flick and was an enjoyable time overall. The way in which Brad's character came up with an approach was one of the big stretches ... but it is fiction, after all, told in a limited time frame.

I liked this movie a lot except for the 'temporary camouflage cure'-Not believable that so many people would be infected when most of the earths population has active terminally ill cells.

After "I am Legend" legitimized the serious Zombie movie, I thought the genre peaked. I'm happy to say there are still great plot ideas and great actors willing to play in them. The action in this movie starts up quickly, and rarely lets up. If you were wondering why Brad Pitt would sign on to a Zombie script, see the movie and you will understand. This one will be tough to top!

Story was fair. Brad Pitt has to find a vaccine to protect people from getting bitten and becoming zombies. He noticed that certain people were not bothered by the zombies. Entertaining enough but not much else to it. Storyline was just OK. Didn't emotionally charge you. Special effects were good. Most of the movie was battling zombies.

I read the book so I knew story line and I had read a number of reviews for the movie. BUT, I wasn't prepared for how scared I would be! On the edge of your seat throughout most of the movie. Well done!

It is true that the only thing that the book and the movie have in common is the title and the fact that it is about Zombie's. Visually, the movie is nice on the big screen, but lacking on intensity. Despite a high body count, it is extremely low on impactful scenes depicting the horror of an actual attack. The airplane scene, while conveying the horor of confinement with a fast moving pathogen, is unrealistic as is their "cure". Ending is a complete set-up for Part II. It was worth the $$ to see (the $5 special at a local theater) to see it on the big screne...some of the effects and scenes are stunning.
