I thought this would be just a guy movie but I actually enjoyed the story line. More on the lines of Indiana Jones, a little something for everyone. Make sure if you go to the IMAX on a first showing that you get there over an hour before it starts to get a spot in the super long (I mean CRAZY LOOONG) line.

IMAX 3D is definately the way to see this movie. Visually, it is just amazing. The storyline is typical Disney. Humans are destroying their planet. White people are war-thirsty suckwads. Minorities are in touch with the planet and all wise. You get the point. Still...it is a great movie. Go see it!!!

I grew up reading the John Carter of Mars books and comics, and was really excited to see this movie. The filmmakers take a lot of liberties in this adaptation, but they remained respectful of the grander themes of the original. This movie was fun, earnest, and visually stunning. I can't wait to own it on Blu-Ray.

Over 2 hours of pure pleasure. While the movie was based mostly on the 1st 2 books (Princess of Mars & Gods of Mars) it stayed close enough to the books to keep it interesting. The 3D effect was tremendous anf I am looking forward to seeing it again.

I found it to be a good movie. Mild language for kids and a lot of violence. Geared more for 16 or older. Action scenes throughout, many battle scenes one has to be prepared for with interlaced comedic effect which makes for a nice touch. Worthy of seeing on the big screen in 3D with the massive sound, otherwise it will lose it's intensity.

Caught this movie Thursday night at the Midnight opening at the Imax and was impressed with how much they go right. While it doesn't follow the books 100% there is enough taken from the first book to keep those loyal to ERB happy. Liz Collins looks the part of Deja Thoris and Taylor Kitch almost has JC down, hopefully Andrew Stanton will make the sequels he talked about. Both times I went the audience were plentiful and happy with the movie, discussing it as they went out the door. Woola caught the kids eye and hooked them from the start.
Do yourself a favor and catch it in Imax it really makes a difference.

Don't listen to the critics who some I think have an agenda against Disney and blockbuster movies. Even my 18 and 20 year old thought it was better then what critics are portraying it to be. Great hero and heroine scifi fantasy story written 100 years ago brought to the big screen in a huge way. Seeing it in IMAX 3D was an added bonus. There's humor, action, battles, visuals, plot (yes I said plot), and underlying villiany from an otherworld entity. I hope to see it again today in 2D. Go to this movie. Show Stanton and Disney doing these types of movie projects are worth every penny spent. Thank you Andrew and Disney for buying the rights to the first three stories. Can't wait for number 2 in the series.

I don't usually like movies of this type but my 2 grandchildren ages 12 and 19 wanted to see it. I loved it. It had a great story and the visual effects were outstanding. It was great seeing it in I-MAX with a large screen and outstanding sound. Even though it was a long movie it kept your attention by jumping from scene to scene.

This movie deviates from the book, A Princess of Mars, but perfectly portrays the image of Barsoom as written by ERB. The creatures and characters fit nicely into what was expected. The story is a little disjointed, but the look of the movie and the action overshadow that issue. I look forward to seeing it again.

This movie has a decent story that may be difficult for younger viewers to follow. However, there is plenty of action to make up for it. Great characters. The only issue is there isn't really enough of a back-story about each race. You may find yourself wondering why certain characters are doing what they do. All in all, though, a very good movie. Not great, but pretty good. Seems like the plot and characters could have been vastly elaborated on.

John Carter' is the best-looking 3-D sci-fi adventure since 'Avatar. Visionary and philosophical, with the sort of complex allusions to death, immortality and the destruction of civilizations that you don't expect from a $250 million film. Saturday afternoon matinee fun. Think Conan the Barbarian clashing with the gods of Clash of the Titans who are conquering Mars, Gladiator style. A must see.
