It was a weird movie. It wasn't really a comedy and it wasn't really sci-fi. I think the movie tried to hard to fit both. It really would've been better off if it focused strictly on a the comedic adventures of 'The Watch' or their alien hunting adventures. Instead it tried to mix in both and kind of falls flat. Its still a good movie and worth going to see it, but I can't help but think it could've been better.
Pros well paced, great actors
Cons too complex
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I like the actors & the movie could have been funny if the writers didn't think being as vulgar as possible was funny. It's was junior high mentality for being as grossly foul as possible as often as possible. I can't imagine grown men running around talking like that... but perhaps juveniles is the market they were looking for. I wasn't impressed nor were the other couples we went with. I should have requested my money back.
Although not a total flop, this should have been better than it was. The cast is strong but the story was not. Had it kept to its true self, a story about a group of guys who were avoiding their own lives and bonded, it might have worked. Or if it was just an alien story it had the chance to work. But the blend of the two as a comedy somehow did not quite come together. There are some very funny moments and some hilarious sight gags, but that isn't enough to carry a movie even if it might work for a digital short. Wait for it to come to tv.
My wife and I almost walked out at the start of the movie. We thought it will pick up and stop being a silly movie. Due to the actors we decided to stay and see what's next. It was a mistake waiting.
The movie was on par with the usual Vaughn, Stiller, and Hill levels. But moviegoers should just wait for the unrated DVD to see this one. There was nothing that stood out as a "must see" on the big screen.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

i was hoping that it was going to be funny. There were a few funny parts, but they were few and far between. The story line was just strange. Unexpected and not in a good way. It was really a borderline bad attempted scary sci-fi. Clearly this was something that was thought up when someone was drunk. These gentleman are capable of much better.
Hated the movie. Felt like it was for a 12 year old boy but when you took out the profanity and the sexual comments and scenes there is nothing left but the lame plot only a twelve old boy would like. Very crude.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Funny actors=a funny movie. Although, too much ad-libbing got a little out-of-hand in some scenes. Some dialogue should have been edited after running on and on trying to outdo one another. Photo shoots with alien were hilarious!
I love these actors! Vince Vaughn in particular was hilarious. The story line would have been much better if it had been more realistic. The sci-fi twist in my opinion ruined the movie.
Pros great actors
Cons not such a great story line
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Like always a poor rated movie by the critics but this movie is just proof once again they know nothing about movies. I don't know if they would know a good movie if it bit them in the butt.
There's nothing revelatory to be found in The Watch, but the cast's knack for improv, a poetry of the profane, makes the adventure worth...viewing. For hang time with the guys, you could do worse than "The Watch."
