THE MOVIE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT, MOVIE PRESENTATION WAS GREAT, EXCEPT PREVIEWS ARE ALWAYS BLASTING, THEN THE MAIN FEATURE IS OKAY. Kept me entertained throughout. Truly amazing effects ( and I.m an avid movie-goer). Sally Field was outstanding. For the last few minutes of the movie I felt every free-fall. This was the first movie that was even close to the effects of the likes of "Spaceship Earth" experience at Disneyworld. Go see it. You won't be disappointed.

Great movie and much better than the spider man movies directed by Sam Raimi. Introduced a lot of things we have not yet seen in a spider man movie such a spider mans past and a never before seen villain in the lizard. I wish they had explained a little more about spider mans parents in the movie but they still have 2 more movies to introduce new back story. The lizard was great to see on screen and I love how they went with his more human side in that he was able to still think about science even while he was transformed. The kid that played spider man did a great job and I like how this movie was more true to the comic books. Look for at least a small cameo in future movies from the green goblin but I think seein either the rhino or leaven on screen would be awesome!! All in all this was a great movie

This was the best movie I have seen in many years and I am a frequent movie goer. Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) was amazing and made the movie. This kid has real star power. I expect to see big things from him in the future. This movie is a must see!

I enjoyed this movie more than Avengers. I felt more emotionally attached to the characters and the story. From start to end not one time did it feel like it was slow or dragging on. Best Spider Man by far! Well worth the money spent. My eight year old boy loved it as well.

Here is how I sum up "The Amazing Spiderman", It's a Marvel Comic Reboot with a new cast, new better costumes and a whole new set of Father issues all done very nicely in 3D!!
This installment takes you back to the very beginning when Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) was a little boy. He's abandoned by his parents, raised by his aunt and uncle. Fast forward to the teen years, Peter tries to sort out who he is and where he really belongs. He has a crush on Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) who is one of his classmates.
While in the basement, Peter accidentally finds a brief case that belonged to his Father. Finding this brief case fuels an all out quest to find out why his parents abandoned him.
Gwen works after school as a tour guide at a Science Research Laboratory (Oscorp). Peter sneaks in on one of Gwen's tours. During the tour at Oscorp Peter meets the head researcher Dr. Curt Conners (Rhys Ifans). This meeting only fuels Peters determination. Peter leaves the tour and follows one of the scientist and sneaks into one of the research labs, while his is in the lab he accidentally touches something he shouldn't have and he is bitten by one of the many Spiders that is being used in the lab for experiments. The story unfolds from there...
Lots of action, cool special effects, suspenseful and intriguing. This movie was shot totally in 3D and they did a good job. I found myself ducking and dodging in my theater seat. This installment is better then the previous two, it's a lot more fun and entertaining. Andrew Garfield is a fresh face and gives you a fresh take on a beloved Marvel's Comic Super Hero.
A Must See in IMAX 3D!!!

Truly enjoyed this movie. Saw it on the IMAX in 3D and it really felt like you were in the movie. Especially during the web swinging sequences. The acting was actually very well done and you can tell the story was well written and thought out. Compared to the previous Spider man movies this was not as cheesy and was a much darker movie. I would say it is definitely a PG-13 rating due to the violence and blood and some language. My wife enjoyed the romance between Gwen Stacey and Peter Parker and said it was much more believable than Peter Parker and Mary Jane. The scene during the end credits though was very vague and left many wondering in the theater " What the Heck". Overall very well done and look forward to the next one.

So I went to the amazing spiderman the IMAX experience 3d. The movie is good. It has more action scenes than expected which was good however some of the drama scenes with uncle Ben, Gwen's dad, etc seemed over acting and came across as a scene they didn't want to do but had to for the movies sake. I was not impressed with the IMAX experience. I felt like there were 3 great 3d scenes with the remainder a regular movie pushed into 3d scenes. I do recommend this movie however I can't say which I prefer Tobey as spiderman or Garfield. The uniform looks great and the fight scenes are great. I know this is supposed to be the first one where he learns as he goes but the lizard kicks his butt all over the scene and spiderman never gets the upper hand or learns from previous fights he just gets lucky in beating the lizard. I could go on but its hard without putting spoilers up. Hope this helps.

The film captive the Parker's character developed and made it quick since the original movie fills up that gap in what we re-imagine him to be. All the cast was superb here. Although, the story was basically same but with it's on twist (good twists). If only they stared the franchise with this movie then I wouldn't seen the bad 3rd one, ha. In Spidey's fighting scenes; he actually fights like a spider at times while moving around the opponent while webbing him. I thought that was amazing using real spider elements in the film. The film seemed past paced. The only think i can say bad about the film that it's a remake (repeat scenario plot). Otherwise, heck of a film; see it!

Viewed July 4th at an IMAX 3D, not as many "great" 3D scenes as we expected, but two were especially outstanding. Excellent acting, enjoyed both the fresh new and old favorites alike. The film pace was perfect and very believable for 2012, even for a recycle of the first Spiderman movie plot. So disappointed 'they' didn't go with a third installment and new plot, casting these same 2012 actors/actresses whom I was surprised I greatly prefer!

Movie lacked intensity and dramatic tension of the Raimi trilogy. On its own I thought the story was fairly predictable even for such a well known character
plot. I expected to learn something new about the characters. The villan was corny and underplayed, only his accent stood out as different. Great digital action scenes, but, poorly developed lead character. Not enough content from the parents roles. Didn't understand the cameo scene by the creator. I thought the movie would fair better as a tv movie. OVERALL, good, but NOT memorable.

Not sure why we have to sit through the same dialogue with new actors/actresses just because Toby and Kirsten grew too old. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy are a bit too technical for 17 year olds plus he revealed himself to her a bit too early. The IMAX 3D did nothing spectacular. Should have saved my money and rented this one.

My husband loves these types of movies so I usually tag along but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this one! There was actually a story I could follow. I don't want to give anything about the movie away but according to my husband the movie it truer to the original comic book. Excellent movie...must see, will see again!

This movie revolves around a more emotional teenage flawed Peter Parker, and so are the characters. It provides a different, more psychological compelling story. This Spiderman is not as powerful as the last, and so has to rely on his quickness and wits. The scenes of Spiderman swinging through the air seems more real, with physical limits.. A definite fresh take on the spiderman legend

The Movie started of a bit slow but it picked up. the story line was good, i would have liked to have heard peter parker say more of his clever quotes, i didn't like that they excluded uncle Ben's speech "with great power comes great responsibility" unless i missed it. the special effects were good and the fight scenes are very cool to.

The previous Spider-man movies had humor dispensed through-out to lighten the mood some. They also had good "life lessons" to make you think about your choices, etc. This one, while intense and exciting, lacked those for the most part. They also made some changes that I didn't care for. It felt like it "argued" with the last three Spider-Man movies over what the real story was. One positive thing that I, personally, took away from this movie, is that pretty much everybody wants to be a hero, and needs one.

it dragged a little in the beginning but started to get more interesting as the movie progressed. i like that they showed the emotions of peter parker cause in the comics he did have a lot of despair in his life and was always surrounded by bad luck. also gwen stacy really cared for peter parker unlike mary jane she was a tramp lol

Although the basic plot hasn't changed, this new version of the story has much more depth and nuance than the original. I was deeply impressed with the range of emotion it elicited.
There were so many cleaver, funny and moving scenes that were well integrated with the action and special effects. The 3D aspect was also well utilized and of course seeing it on the iMax greatly enhanced the whole experience.
