Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, overall. Characters could have been a bit more developed, but the inspirational aspects of their struggle and camaraderie as well as those fight scenes made for a really good film. Excellent tribute to a courageous group of Men!

Plenty of action, and history highlight this movie. The events in this movie actually happened so it adds extra depth. All the scenes in the movie grabbed me and the characters were real, and you felt like you could connect with them. Overall I loved this movie.

Great Movie of the contributions of our Black Army Air Corps Pilots on the front line
Having spent 20 years in the Air Force and having two members of my wife's Family as Tuskegee Airmen (Graham (Peep Sight) Smith and his younger brother Reginald V. Smith. This movie was realistic and heartfelt for all of us who served. Thank you John Ridley, George Lucas.

I took my whole family and it was money well spent. The beginning was a little slow, but then it really picked up. Action packed and historically sound. Characters were well developed and storyline was interesting. Great movie overall!!!

I normally do not review movies, but I take exception on this one.
Beside the action and movie excitement, this film tells an untold story of black history that is not taught in schools. When there is talk of american history there is always a note of silence when stories are told of true heroism and the Black Americans contribution to a country that has shown great hate and very little compassion for the Black American.
Congratulations to those that saw fit to convey this story and adding it to a written history, The airmen portrayed are true heroes and I am proud to be an American and honor them for their service, sacrifice, and restrain during a time of much racial hatred.
Best military historical movie since "A Soldiers Story", "Tuskegee Airmen", and "The Jackie Robinson Story".
Truly a movie that should be seen in the theater.

"Red Tails" was a wonderful re-telling of the story concerning the Tuskegee Airmen. I looked forward to seeing this movie and was not disappointed. The acting wasn't the greatest, nor was the action scenes as graphic or gory as the majority of modern day movies are today, however, the story was outstanding. I will see this one again!

Took my wife and kids to see this after we saw the preview a couple of weeks ago. Definitely met expectations on the action side of things and exceeded my emotional expectations. An outstanding movie with a particularly outstanding performances by David Oyelowo as "lightning," Tristan Wilds as "Junior, and Terrence Howard as Colonel A.J. Bullard. Oyelowo, in particular, stood out.

I thought this was going to be an action movie. The story is a great one, the movie does not do it justice. The action, what little there was, is great. The acting is not the greatest and the story lines are not up to what these great men did. Terrence is fantastic, and with better writting I think the rest of the cast could have been too. The directing could have been better.

Red Tails presents the combat experience of the Tuskegee Airmen aviators and the challenges they endured and overcame in a compelling way that involves all the elements of great theater--drama, suspense, humor, action, tragedy, horror, and redemption. The movie runs for two hours but does not drag. It presents the realities of racism in a way that is honest, but not triumphalist on any level. We are indebted to the Tuskegee Airman for their valiant service to the nation. We are indebted to George Lucas for having enough honor to put up his own money to tell their story.

An inspiring movie about a group of Americans who fought - and defeated - two enemies. This film is NOT a documentary, and does not claim to be, but is based on the real story of the 332 Fighter Group, the "Tuskegee Airmen" of World War II. As an engineer who has worked in fighter aviation for almost 40 years, the "ethos" of fighter pilots and ground crew was captured perfectly without being over the top. Having flown a Mustang, the operational and flying sequences were quite good and rarely struck me as CGI. Dramatically, the story line and subplots were quite good and kept the film moving along. We were also privileged to have two of the original Tuskegee Airmen (with their families) as guests of honor at our showing, and the audience spent over 1/2 hour after the film meeting, talking with, and taking pictures of the unassuming gentlemen.

What a great movie portraying the bravery of men who put other people's lives in front of their own in the midst of a racist military. The movie also showed the gratefulness of their efforts by the soldiers lives they protected. I appreciate the story being told and I am so proud of the pride they showed in having such talents when they were told they were not good enough.

When this movie begins you immediately know that you're in the middle of the story and know that a prequel has to be made. Terrance Howard had some moments, but he pulled it off at the end. Nate Parker did an outstanding job. It was a great action movie with complex storylines. Kudos to the director Anthony Hemingway and producer George Lucus, great job!
