Absolutely loved Red Tails, and felt the movie covered many delicate issues and kept us interested from beginning to end. As an Army Veteran and African American myself, I am thankful that this story was put on the big screen."BRAVO" George Lucas! BTW, excellent cast choice!
Blessed to say that I took a flight up in a F-51 Mustang last year as part of the Wounded Warriors Project. Amazing!

Great movie about the Tuskegee group of Airmen. I first learned about this group of men on the History Channel. It saddens me to think that we treated these men and others like them the way we did even though they were laying their lives on the line as well. Thank God for the Civil Rights movement which was way overdue. To think that they started out with old planes and did so well with them ... WOW!

Normally I don't like action movies, but the way this story was told was great.. Lots of action, great graphics, extreme drama, comedy and love stories (romance, love of pride, love of patriotism and love of aircraft).
George Lucas is a great storyteller.

Everyone in my family liked this movie including my 17 year old son who is used to ultra high tech fast paced action films. I found it historically accurate, and heartbreaking. It was inspiring and made me proud to recognize the courage and perseverance in spite of the racial obstacles that the Tuskegee Airmen overcame. As an African American military family, with a West Point cadet now in his senior year we understand the desire to fight and serve our country as Americans. I would recommend the movie to EVERY American. It is not just a story for African Americans but for all of us. Well done Mr. Lucas!

The story of the Tuskegee Airmen is a great example of history teaching a valuable lesson. The movie was an excellent portrayal of this extraordinary group of pilots. I think the movie should be required viewing for all middle school and high school students studying American History and WWII.

I really enjoyed this movie. I would like to see more movies with African Americans as heroines. Red Tails did an excellent job demonstrating how against adversity this group of men successfully contributed to history. Additionally, this movie should serve as a great teaching tool for US. History classes across the country.

This movie was excellent. Although they used fictional characters and some of it was not historically accurate it provided a glimpse into what it must have been like to be an Tuskegee Airman. It certainly sparked curiosity among my young son who is doing his National History Day project on the Tuskegee Airmen experience and how it impacted the birth of civil rights in this country. EXCELLENT JOB !!!!

The fight scenes are so exciting but the inspiration behind what those soldiers give to us all is Even Better. The film was told very, very well. The actors really put their Heart and Soul in this movie. I was really impressed with the many actors I had never or hardly seen that got so much screen time. They all hit home runs and George Lucas hit a GRAND SLAM!

The entire family saw this picture and thought it was fantastic. The flight and fighting scenes were amazing and the story was informative, as well as being entertaining. We had two 9 year olds with us and found it appropriate for them to watch.

This is an excellent movie for all to see. George Lucas did an excellent job in capturing the mood of the country, military, and war environment experienced by the Tuskegee Airmen and perhaps all african americans serving during that time. Additionally, he also captured the family like atmosphere shared by the Tuskegee Airmen as they stuck together looking after the welfare of each other.This film will make you proud to be an african american and appreciate the struggle of the Tuskegee Airmen and others who have gone before us breaking down the doors of prejudice through "postive" accomplishments. If you're looking for historical accuracy you will be disappointed in this movie. I've read a great deal about the Tuskegee Airmen, the 99th Fighter Group, and was surprised to find that all the characters were fictional. None of the men which I've come to regard as American heroes such as General Benjamin O Davis, Colonel Charles Dryden (A-Train) were anywhere to be found. They were replaced by fictional characters and a canned Hollywood script. But what the heck, one of my favorite movies as a kid was PT-109. Same kind of thing. Reproducing history accurately doesn't always make for a entertaining movie.
That said it has some basis in fact and while the story line was predictable, it was entertaining and I was glad to have seen it. I recommend it to anyone. But if you really want to learn about these men buy yourself a copy of A-Train by Charles Dryden, or any of the other books written by these gentlemen. It's a great American story.

What a great movie- acting, directing, writing and cinematography. Our theater was about 60% teenagers. It was nice to see that they were enthralled in learning about history. I was somewhat expecting a remake of the 90's "Tuskeegee Airmen" but this took the story to another level. Definitely worth the price and the 2 hours.
