Documentary oriented, this movie pretty much had it's plot laid out. Not a lot of room for character development, dialog was fairly straight ahead. Camera work was interesting. I am glad I saw it and didn't feel ripped off for the ticket price.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Hopefully it was more truth than fiction since Hollywood has a way of making fiction look true. If true, however, a very eye-opening and powerful movie describing events during a very dark and difficult time in our recent history. It should be seen by all legislators who think their jobs are mere sleigh rides, enjoying the sights and reaping benefits. We have a wonderful country that deserves to be defended by everyone who lives in it. It is extremely troublesome to know that terrorists are so intent on killing all Americans and whoever else that does not join in their beliefs.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Movie did a very nice job of not overdoing the actual OBL execution. IT was a bit long, could have shortened a few items a bit, but overall told a great story of all of the intel that led to finding OBL, and the tireless work that our intelligence teams do.
Pros great story
Cons a bit long
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie seemed very realistic. The sound was amazing, especially when the helicopters were on camera. The hand-held camera technique was a bit disconcerting to me and by the end of the movie I was almost nauseous. However, I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to my friends.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons hand-held camera
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Enjoyed the film. Seemed like the scenes with explosions and gunfire were overly loud. They almost made me leap out of my seat every time. Not really necessary to get the point across. Enjoyed the angle of the movie, more CIA research than seal team six macho (although there was a bit of this and enjoyed it).
Pros great story, great actors
Cons the beginning was tricky to get your head around

...you learn how incredibly dedicated some government workers are to their job/profession. Thank goodness.
Also, having lived through it, I found the opening of the movie with sound but no picture was extremely powerful.
Dar, violent and befuddled, this film comes with a pedigree that it never lives up to. Also Jessica Chastain is very one dimensional but has a great rack.
Cons bad acting, too complex, slow
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Suspenseful and paced to reflect a special operations intervention. The represenation of the characters and their dialogue seemed very real. It took the director much courage to portray events as truthfully as possible, especially in a hostile Hollywood environment concerned with a leftist agenda forced on an unsuspecting public. Kathryn Bigelow portrays an uncomfortable balance between the reality of waterboarding and the real results it produced.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Persistence pays! Interesting to follow the tale of the woman who wanted and finally got Bin Laden.

This is the type of movie that only the dying breed of inbreed racist bible thumping Christ fanatic republicans can find entertaining. Its starts with torture and it ends by torturing any audience member with half an evolved brain. The real question is not whether this movie is down to the T truthful but how many people are going to die because of it! How many will this P off in the middle east and push toward further hating the west. I can't get back the 3 hours of my life I lost watching this useless propaganda filth but I can save someone from losing 3 hours of theirs, DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS TRASH!! But!! If your a Republican that dislikes blacks, Hispanics and Asians. Believes that women really have no real place in politics and that woman can mentally control the out come of getting pregnant after being rape. Is a wealthy old closeted self hating homosexual or a pedophile. Supports the killing of other people for the sake of finances and believes in the logic that more guns are the answer, THIS MOVIE WILL BE AWESOME FOR YOU!!! The TV version was a 100 imes better than this movie!!! Why isn't their a movie to show how the US and the middle east became enemies and who started the trouble???? MMmmmmm..Yup, That wont help politicians!!
Pros shows how dumb people are, graphic demonstration of torture
Wow, where to start. Great directing by Bigelow although honestly I don't think it was that bad of an Oscar snub, none the less still a great direction on behalf of her. Great acting, Jessica Chastain well deserves her nomination for Best Actress, but I'm sorry I still want Jennifer Lawrence to take home the gold though, I think I might just like her more, but whatever. For some reason Jessica's character kind of annoyed me in some scenes, but I understand why now. Jason Clarke I very much enjoyed his character. Great editing, sound effects, visuals. I'm not sure how well it will do at the Oscars, but it is definitely worth watching with America's history, and all. Very emotional and intense. It is very long, and drains you almost, but watch this oscar nominated film. They do have a few scenes of torture, and very startling and intense scenes, and quite a few f words, but that's about it. I highly recommend this movie. And I don't care if the story wasn't even close to how they got him it was still great.
Pros great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Zero Dark Thirty- the story of the CIA agent who tracked him down
Katheryn Bigelow has once again created a study of the psychology of the price paid by people involved in activities that put them in harms way. And although there are some action scenes, this is definitely not an action movie. This is not a feel good film. There are scenes of graphic torture and death. Her style is sophisticated, yet there is something about it that is not quite satisfying. Although the two hours and thirty seven minutes pass quite quickly, there are many parts of the story that have been ignored or minimized.
This is very much the story of the CIA operative (Jessivca Chastain) who is brought in as a rookie and grows into a professional with a singular dedication and focus. Its probably not what you anticipate, but still its a gripping story regardless of your politics.
I don't know if this movie depicts the facts, but it felt like it. While watching this, I literally felt a closure to the events of 9/11, much more so than just the news of Bin Ladens death. Many emotions came out while watching the story of the decade long search and killing of the man behind that horrible day. Joy, satisfaction, frustration, anger, relief....were all felt while watching. The good news for this movie, is that it doesn't take a pollitcal approach. It keeps the politics to a minimum and whether you are a Bush republican or an Obama Democrat, you will enjoy watching how the CIA was able to finally get their man. The agent played by Jessica Chastain should have been severely decorated for her efforts if portrayed accurately. She was amazing. And Chastain was justifiably nominated for academy award! Jason Clarke did an outstanding job as well. Go see this!
This movie was very entertaining, suspensful, and powerful. The recreation of events was very authentic looking, acting was great. But the movie lacked depth. This was basically a very well done fictional chronological documentary. There was almost no character development and created little intrest in any particular person. It was like waiting for a climax that just didn't come. The movie ended and it was quiet. Nothing to say really, well done movie, but didn't feel like a movie. The accuracy of events or any political statements the movie tried to make were vague and hard to establish. So other than having a great exterior, this Zero Dark Thirty had Zero heart. I walked away not feeling like it was the best use of 2.5 hours, but not terrible. Eh.
This show was supposed to be a well written and orchestrated movie of behind the scenes look at the CIA capture and killing of Bin Laden. It proved very dry and overdone from the start with basic dialogue and too much tactics of prisoner interogation so-called techniques. The first two and a half hours was me trying to see when it would pick up. The last half hour was the Navy Seals and the main charachter going in to get him. No big thrill there, and very anti-climatic. With a few, and I do mean few forced smiles on offshot attempts and being funny, this movie was a waste of time and money. Sorry, but the only thing to look at here was the very beautiful main charachter. I would definitely call it a zero.
This is a well-written, well-acted, well-directed movie, with a surprisingly real grittiness for a movie about such a hot topic. I didn't see Hurt Locker, so can't compare, and I admit to liking any movie which can annoy some US Senators with too much time on their hands. If you want an excoriation of water-boarding or a hero worship of the team that killed Bin Laden, you are in for a disappointment. The torture sequences are not introduced with the expected explanation of what waterl-boarding does, they just happen. The CIA agent is just doing a job he finds wearing, not a sadist. The terrorists seem mostly small, not given to religious tirades. And the heroes seem more like guys at a southern truck stop than buff and beautiful creatures of justice. So if you truly want all this to be at some extreme, the movie will be disappointing. I thought it rang very true to the way individuals and organizations really act. It's not an action thriller, but a thoughtful look at a lot of issues.
