This film does have good acting, but overall I found it dark, unpleasant, and worse, predictable. When a group of unarmed men are stuck in a remote wilderness in harsh conditions, pursued by wolves, what did you think was going to happen? Yes, the interplay between the men is good, but overall I considered it unpleasant, certainly not entertaining. Sorry, I cannot recommend this one.

I don't understand how so many people could say so many bad things about this movie, did nobody see how special and meaningful this movie really is？ It's one of the best movies i've seen..yes, if your looking for a happy movie it might not be for you, but it depicts life, an it doesn't show you a happy fairy tale; there's something very special about this movie. And the ending is the best part.

My girlfriend and I went to see this on valentines day because we enjoy action/horror flicks, however, this movie is not appropriate for valentines. It was an excellent movie, but it was really more of a tearjerker than anything. There was alot of violence, in part from the plane crash, in part from the wolves, and a little from the survivors. It is a great movie reflecting the stark realities of living in a harsh environment and still keeping the will to survive, and even goes into the depths of what it would take to make a man lose his will to live on. I would say that if you are a fan of books, especially dark intense (I found myself all tensed up several times throughout the movie) books, this is a worthwhile movie. If you just want to be entertained, this movie is too deep for you.

This movie is very dark and seems to convey no positive message. The movie is just a procession of death scenes in which faith of any kind is mocked and despair is portrayed as the only reality. Synopsis: 7 people survive a plane crash and spend the next hour being systematically killed by a pack of sadistic, highly intelligent wolves. The only exception is the Christian who, despite his faith, suffers a horrible turn of fate when his foot gets hopelessly caught in a rocky outcrop while he is floating down a river. The frantic rescue attempt is the only time that God is invoked by Liam Neeson's character, to no effect. Immediately after the failed attempt a final plea for divine intervention is made, and 3 minutes later Liam Neeson is dead and the credits roll. "Life sucks folks, get used to it." In fact the only moment of surreal calm in the movie is experienced prior to what is essentially suicide by one of the characters. Thus, the apparent take-away of the film is:" Life sucks, suicide helps, and the best you can hope for is to die on your own terms." Some will call it gritty realism...I call it the depressed rant of an angry athiest.
