It's been 4 long years since we saw Batman race away on his Bat Chopper to elude the Gotham City Police.
"The Dark Knight Rises" picks up from where "The Dark Knight" ended 8 years later. The continuity from one movie to the next is very good. The difference is that "The Dark Knight Rises" is not a 5 star movie like "The Dark Knight" was. Don't get me wrong, "The Dark Knight Rises" is definitely worth seeing. It should be viewed in IMAX. You really will feel like you are part of the action.
Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) has become a recluse. He shuns all interviews and visitors, hiding in the darkest wing of his mansion. While every day life in Gotham City continues. There hasn't been much crime since Harvey Dent's death. He is heralded as a "Hero" for supposedly ridding Gotham City of Organized Crime.
Terrorist Leader "Bane" arrives in Gotham City, planning some horrendous crime on the city to lure Batman out. Cat Woman (Ann Hathaway) has her hands in so many things that you won't be sure who's side she is really on. The Story unfolds from there...
The first 90 minutes I was intrigued and on the edge of my seat, after that not so much. The movie took way to long to get to the point. The movie is dark and a bit suspenseful, there are some surprises and that makes the slow parts worth the pain.
As always the cinematography was off the chain and there was some new cool Batman toys. Christopher Nolan does an excellent job of wrapping up the saga.
I can't give "The Dark Knight Rises" 5 stars, I felt "Ho Hum" when I left the theater today, unlike 4 years ago when I left the theater after seeing "The Dark Knight" I was excited and I could not breath. The "Joker" remains the best Batman Villian.

Emotional, mind blowing, action packed, thought prevoking, epic. A must see film, if you haven't seen the first two then go buy them and watch. This is the greatest trilogy ever. A amazing ending to the greatest film trilogy of all time.

The third and final Batman trilogy movie is a fine example of what great actors with sets and more than capable director can do.Many loose ends are tied together neatly in less than 3 hours. While Chris Nolan claims to be done with the Batman series, the ground work has be laid for a new beginning by some else in the future. Definitely a movie to see on an IMAX screen at least once and with all the plot twist and turns revisit it at least once again after the first viewing.

While I enjoyed the movie and consider it the best of the trilogy, I had a poor IMAX experience. The movie appeared dirty on the screen, throughout the entire movie you could see tiny black fuzzy pieces of paper that would float and then change depending on the scene; this was extremely distracting and took away from an overall enjoyable experience. If they are going to advertise that the IMAX experience is everything it's supposed to be then they need to do a better job inspecting the reels.

for a 2:45 minute movie it absolutely didn't feel like it it kept the action coming and the amazing storyline flowing. The special effects were incredible and epic with over the top fight scenes and bane was the best supervillan. I saw it in IMAX and I strongly recommend it the picture quality was amazing and the audio was insane , you could feel the bass in your seat and concussion of explosions in your chest absolutely amazing experience from the movie itself to the venue inwhich I saw it!!! Can't wait to watch it again!!

Christopher Nolan's vision is now complete. He has redefined how one should run a franchise: like any other great story this series of films has a beginning, a middle, and an end. There is now, with this film, closure for the fans, actors, director and everyone else involved. As for the film, it was visually breathtaking, well casted (I especially liked Tom Hardy and Joseph Levitt)(?sp), and extremely well acted (considering that this is, of course, a visual comic book). It's underlying commentary on the basics of human nature ( revenge, greed, loyalty, and ultimately the search we all have for inner peace - and how elusive that is, etc) was particularly compelling. I think I will see it again.

Bane has to be the least deform villian of all, but his voice makes him the most frighting thing you want to hear. The plot, characters and director did an excellent job bringing this moview together. It is better than any other Batman movie I've seen, even the Dark Knight and Batman Begins. Would recommend it in Imax or with a good surround system.

Well, after hearing about this movie for months, if not years, I must say it lived up to the hype. A sprawling epic that once again proves what a great director and story teller Christopher Nolan is. Performances were, as always great. Bale offered up the most human Batman to date and the supporting characters all get their moment to shine. As far as Bane goes, he was a formidable foe for Batman and a terrifying presence throughout the film. He was not however, Heath Ledger's Joker.
Make sure you see it in IMAX to truly appreciate the practical effects that Nolan insists on. You will love this movie and without giving anything away...the last 5 minutes will give you chills. 10 out of 10.

i feel as though this movie put an amazing end to what i view as one of the, if not the , greatest trilogies of all time. everyone involved in this movie did a superb job and i couldn't have been more pleased. i think most of the major gripes with this movie concern the perception that it isn't as good as the second movie, but the thing about trilogies is they are all one story. all of these movies come together to create a unique and stirring vision of the batman character arc so to compare it to movie number two i feel is just facetious and rather redundant.
if you loved the first two you will love this final installment.
and spend the extra money for imax. that's how it was meant to be seen and i can tell you from experience, you won't be disappointed.

As a person who has been collecting and reading comics for 38 years, I was really looking forward to Nolan's last movei in his trilogy.
When I 1st heard that Bane was the villain in this 1 I had my doubts as to wether he could carry a movie as the villain. But I was pleasantly surprised. As Batman's antagonist he brought it. Of course the hollywoodized his background and his actual powers(no venom juice and bulking up), but it still worked for me.
I really enjoyed the whole movie, right until the ending. Now dont get me wrong, it was ok how it ended. But I dont like knowing that this was the last 1, of Nolan's anyway. Before someone else picks it up. And we are left to wonder exactly what happens to "Robin" after all goes black. 1 of my friends that was with us said, Oh the next 1 will pick up where this left off. Not necessarily. Look at Nolan's. He rebooted the whole thing. And the recent Amazing Spiderman did the same thing. So we are probably going to be left hanging and never know what happens next. Just a odd thing to do to us instead of a cut and dry last scene.
Again, It doesn't break the movie for me, just left me feeling like I never reached the finish line.

A must see for all Batman fanatics. The storyline was wide in scope and the effects were incredible. My only complaints were you couldn't always hear what Bane was saying and the storyline got bogged down in places, but overall a great way to end Nolan's run. Do not miss this one!Ma

This is a 2 hour and 44 minute long film that actually seemed shorter on the second viewing. That in itself should tell you something. Treat yourself and see it!

At first I was worried about The Dark Knight Rises, but I thought there was no way in the world that it could top The Dark Knight. I mean Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was one that can never be topped. However, Christopher Nolan is an excellent director and did a fantastic job with this movie. Tom Hardy as Bane is a chillingly villain. While there is no way to compare such villains as Joker and Bane, both Ledger and Hardy brought excellent performance and gave their characters that malevolence required of all Batman villains. The story line of the Dark Knight Rises is also beautifully written. With Gotham turning its back on the dark knight how in the world can batman ever return to help the city he loves? It was a beautiful struggle to watch as the plot developed. I thought the entire acting cast was phenomenal. The only downside to this movie, was not the movie itself, but the tragedy that occurred in Colorado at one of the movie's screenings. My heart goes out to the families of loved ones who lost their lives at that screening.

I thought the movie was EXTREMELY slow at times, more times than not. There were times were I caught myself yawning. I don't know if it was the story or seeing this at midnight (IMAX) after a long day but, there were times when I was waiting for much needed action. And maybe I was expecting more than The Dark Knight and Heath Ledger's Joker performance which I don't think can ever be topped, but, the ending made up for a long movie. I won't spoil the ending but if and when you watch the movie and think that this movie IS slow and maybe not what you thought it would be, WAIT TILL THE END. Side note, if you thought Batman's voice was hard to understand, wait to you hear Bane. You'll need to pay very close attention to what he says. Also, don't wait for after the credits, there is nothing there. It would have been cool to have something like the "Avengers" characters had after each of their movies, which probably means don't expect a Justice League.
Pros great actors, awesome ending
Cons too complex, slow, extremely slow

This movie is absolutely perfect to see weather you are a Graduate in Batman Mythos or just saw BB and TDK. Too many iconic parts and images that will be etched in you memories far after the closing credits. I even shed a tear or two at the end myself.
As for the Breaking News about Aurora, CO. It takes one bad apple to ruin and spoil the rest. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to EVERYONE affected by this heartbreaking, heinous tragedy.
All I ask is PLEASE don't let this recent event influence you to miss out on an awesome film.

Without spoiling anything, the movie had a phenomenal plot line, with things happening with Batman/Bruce Wayne exactly as he would react, so the movie felt like it had a very natural flow (Remember, it was a comic character first, which explains some of the "flaws" people point out in the plot/thought process) Tom Hardy was a great villain (Not as good as Ledger, but remember that Ledger could use his whole face to act, Hardy really had to do all his acting with his eyes)
The twists and surprises at the end caught me way off guard (except one, one was very foreshadowed, but for the sake of not ruining, I won't say any more about it)
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons very occasionally bane was hard to understand...
