Thought I would make the hubby happy by going with him. We took with our teen sons and we were all blown away by this movie. It was realistic and intense but in a very powerful way. Made me so proud to be an American but scared of the implications in the movie about terrorism. A really terrific movie unlike any of the fake Hollywood cotton candy that is usually out there.

Don't go in expecting Oscar nominated performances, they're real soldiers. But the action sequences are phenomenal and put together very well. The film managed to touch my heart at the end with a moment that hit very close to home. Will be added to my bluray collection day off release.

Went to this movie as a family and we ALL agreed it was probably the best movie we had ever seen. STRONGLY recommend it to everyone! Very real, very moving. Wanted to see this movie since first hearing about it. I found some reviews (mainly Hollywood critics) that where not very complimentary of the acting capabilities of the SEALs. I then read reviews from SEALs themselves that where spot on. This movie was great. I am a former Marine and am proud of all of those who have served.

A grand experiment putting real Navy seals into an action movie about our military special forces rescuing hostages from international terrorists, finding the bad guys and dispatching them. Yes - it does come off as a recruitment tool for the military and special forces .... and that is a good thing! We need more heroes to volunteer to be the best of the best! The world is filled with a lot of crazy, suicide bomber, extremist fanatics and we need these real-world military specialist that can surgically remove these threats! If this movie doesn't make you proud to be an American .... then I'm not sure what will. This movie is wall to wall action and it has the feel of truth ... real world reality .... no special effect exaggerations and hype .... just the grind it out grittiness and risk that comes with this territory. This ambiance more than makes up for the sometimes stiff dialogue and tonally flat narration (I think that detail actually adds to the overall feel of reality and tension) ... which we are not used to as it is not-slick, non-Hollywood and unpolished stuff. Much better than some of the main stream critics would have you believe. Perhaps some of the Hollywood, leaning-left, critic-elite types have an agenda with their less than stellar reviews. Military heroics and a movie that respects and applauds our everyday military real-life supermen ... that does, indeed, serve as a recruitment tool, may not "tickle their fancy". All that said .... do not miss Act of Valor. See it on the big screen and give yourself an injection of patriotic super serum. You should sleep better at night knowing these American military ninja warriors are out there ... out in the world wherever they are needed ... in the shadows, jungles, mountains ...sea, land and air ..... stopping the crazed evil-doing madmen of the earth from harming freedom loving people and the citizens of the USA! A star-studded, red, white striped rhino horn respectfully and gratefully way up!

Great movie. When I heard they had used some real Navy Seals in making this movie, i was hoping for the best, and that's what I got. In my opinion the most realistic depiction of real ops. People get hurt, die, and run out of ammo. The "good" guys aren't immune to the bullets. Things go wrong. Excellent pic showing the overwhelming firepower these guys strive for. I'm going to see it again.

The movie was very good. Just enough hollywood mix of a based on real life story. The action scenes had good detail, instead of weapons that never run out of bullets. The Navy Seals are an honorable group and a credit to all that is great about our military. My husband and I REALLY enjoyed watching this movie and have recommended it to all of our friends and family. The acting was better than expected (no oscar performances but we have watched worse). We actually cheered during some scenes. Makes you appreciate the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make for you and I.

Every American needs to appreciate what these folks go through and the job they do. Lots of action and emotion throughout, good acting and some of it was not acting, hard to keep a dry eye, just what i expected it to be and it met all my expectations.

From the very beginning to the end Act Of Valor was a hit. From the active duty Navy Seals to the, issues that face this planet today, this movie just put all the pieces togather. This is by far the best war movie I've ever seen and when me and my friends left the theater we knew we could never be half the man, that these Navy seals are. I highly recommend seeing this flick. I will see this movie again in theaters for sure.

This movie will probably make you have a deeper appreciation of the the women and men in uniform protecting this country, more than you ever did. It is a Must SEE movie. Very touching!
