I didn't know what to expect from Looper, just the name sounded weird. I was thinking just an ordinary badly directed movie. Well I was wrong! Looper is one of the best, most interesting movies I have seen in a while. The acting is great, storyline is good, and you are always wanting to know what's next! Joseph Gordon-Levitt does a great job portraying his future self as Bruce Willis. There were times this movie was a bit confusing, but after a couple of minutes you realize what happened. The movie is also too slow at times though. If you like action movies with many twists and allot of excitement, definitely go see Looper, you will not be disappointed :)

Concept of meeting and killing yourself was intriguing enough to get me to the theater without knowing anything about the real plot thread at the end. Willis and Gordon-Levitt played off each other well, and characteristics of Willis show up in G-L pretty well.
Some parts of the plot I found a little pedestrian, but overall I enjoyed this flick. Go see it. It will keep you thinking about the "world" and its order, as you learn more about the "rewards and punishments" system in play.

"Looper" is a Suspense/Thriller that starts a bit slow, but like a locomotive picking up steam it speeds up to give you a thrilling ride. You must pay close attention because there are so many twists and turns that you will get lost. The movie keeps you guessing and waiting to see what happens next.
"Looper" is about Time Travel that is illegal except on the Black Market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone they send them back 30 years to the past where a "Looper" takes care of the target.
At some point a "Looper" becomes a target and knowing how the system works a "Looper" tries to avoid their fate. The story unfolds from there...
Very "Mind Bending, Intriguing, Intense and Suspenseful" with a moderate amount of action. The movie does get a bit bloody at times. This is one of the best Suspense Thrillers since the movie "Inception". The way the movie ended was a bit weird.
If you like "Intense" and can stand the "Bloodiness" then "Looper" is your movie.
Pros well paced, suspenseful, mind bending, intruging

Looper is a great action sci fi film that uses time-travel to dramatic effect. Talking about the plot is useless. You have to see it and just go with it. You'll get so caught up in the life of these two (really one) men that you won't care that time travel rules are being broken in every frame.
The movie slows down but the lovely Emily Blunt makes you forget that in her tight jeans and skimpy nightie. Levitt does a dead-on Willis as his younger self and both men play the character Joe with skill, showing hoe much he has and has not changed over the years.
Flaws and all, Looper is better than most of the crap that passes for action and thrillers. Too bad they can't do another one.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, emily blint in a nightie

I was not expecting the movie to be that good with the premise it was revolved around, boy was I wrong. It was fantastic, filled with suspense at almost all times right from the get go. Kept me thinking and guessing what's going to happen next and everytime I was wrong, which is fantastic in a movie because who wants a predictable movie. All in all I recommend this movie very highly and it was worth the money to see it!

Kudos to writer/director Rian Johnson. I'll buy tickets for the first night of whatever his next movie is. Looper is a homerun.
I've wanted to see this movie ever since hearing about it a few months ago; the premise sounded intriguing and reminiscent of the type of story that Philip K Dick might have written. Usually when I go into a movie with heighten expectations I am invariably a bit disappointing, Not this time!
The concept, story and acting come together into a flawless whole. Gorden-Levitt and Willis somehow make you believe they are indeed the same person. Both are capable of great good and horrific actions. Emily Blunt is the flawed but loving mother we all wish we had; and the kid is...well, let;s just say that the character is full of surprises and the very young actor pulls it off.
Plan to see again.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, surprises you never see coming

#1. I couldn't take my eyes of Joseph and how his mannerisms were just like Bruce's. Even down to the slight pucker of lips that Bruce does before he speaks. His character is a jackbutt, however, he's kinda rich and he likes to party and throw money around. I thought Joseph nailed that character type down.
#2. Yes, there are about two scenes that are slow, but ya know....we live in a world of instant, and you wouldn't tell your friend, who is pouring their heart out to you, to speed the cry fest up.
#3. The action was great! Yeah, you knew sometimes that someone was about to get a beat down, but then there were moments that were out of the blue and just funny how it was played out.
#4. The time travel story was fresh. There are moments where you have to pay attention to the dialog to understand. But it wasn't as mind blowing and confusing as the first time you hear the Architect explain the Matrix. Just like in Back to the Future, you can deviate from the Timeline, but then, in Looper, at the end, the past...remembers...the future.... Now put that in your pipe and smoke it!
All in all, I think it's a good movie that is set in the very near future. You see our modern day cars but then you will see a hovering motorcycle type vehicle. I would definitely see it again

If you liked Memento, you'll like this movie. The future/past loop is, as always, a difficult concept. They did a great job with the backstory, explaining how things worked, but it did leave some questions.
The cast was great, Emily Blunt plays a great part, but I think the kid, Pierce Gagnon, was outstanding. He is definitely one to watch. Bruce Willis is his usual edgy self. And they did a great job making Joseph Gordon-Levitt look like a younger Bruce Willis.
Great movie, would defininately recommend. It is a thinking person's movie, not the kick-back-and-watch-the-blood-fly movie like the Expendables franchise.

This film rates right down there with Vanilla Sky and Killer Tomatoes From Outer Space. Actually Killer Tomatoes is better. I haven't seen The Master but I bet it's better and I hear its awful. Save your money.

Looper marks a significant step forward for time-travel storytelling. This movie had very good acting in it. The ending of the movie may be predictable if you are paying attention. The plot itself was very good, and I like how the time travel effects in the movie are shown, unlike other movies. The way the movie is put together and comes together at the end is very good. great movie.
