Wow I saw this awhile ago and never got a chance to write a review for it. Yeah I really liked this movie, the end was sad and I wish it had ended differently, but that's o.k. JGL is cool as always, Rian Johnson I thought did very well both directing and writing. Very cool idea for an original screenplay. Not that long. Good action, good slow time, interesting protagonists and antagonists, for some reason it switched for me half way through of the characters, but it only makes sense if you watch it. I enjoyed this movie, pretty rough, but good.

Just got back from watching "Looper." In short, this could also have been titled "Thinker." It avoids all the easy cliches of the standard time travel movie (though I admit, I like most of them). However, this one really stands out. I have no idea how it's done at the box office, as many great movies aren't box office smashes. However, this one will be remembered with Blade Runner (it's better) as one of the true greats of the science fiction genre. What it's really short on, which I appreciate, is manipulation. It grabs you because it speaks of things that are real. And the acting - solid all around, with (as usual) outstanding work by Emily Blunt. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a new guy, and he will be back. Bruce Willis, of course, knows how to be tough and sensitive. Oh yeah, Piper Perabo puts in a guest appearance also.

Overall, if your someone bored with the predictable plot of many hollywood movies, and you want some action, this is your movie. I had no idea how this movie was gonna end. The first 30 minutes of the movie are somewhat slow, and there are some confusing parts, but the movie sure kept me guessing. Plus Emily Blunt was a pleasant surprise from her usual self, with a good almost believable southern accent, and a much more stronger role than I am used to.

The movie didn't have teeth for me until Bruce Willis entered. The teeth / story it has isn't the greatest but there is plenty of action and Bruce Willis is pretty good. If I was a sci-fi buff I'd probably enjoy it more.

i was surprised by how much i enjoyed this movie. it's fast paced once it gets started, and the story moves smoothly through the plot. of course, even with jgl, willis, and daniels, there are no oscar worthy performances here, but if you enjoy a good sci-fi, action, suspense, mystery to take your mind away for a couple of hours, there's very little you won't like about looper. worth the bucks for a great escape.

This movie was so good that even after I left I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was so impressed with how the younger version of Bruce Willis acted just like him. Wasn't expecting that at all. I love when I am so surprised by a movie.....makes me want to go out to the movies more! It's a MUST SEE in the theaters!!

Thrilling and original, presenting a story with depth and informed by characters with complex facets, this film takes time from its action sequences to let the people within breathe and make us fear for their fates. Want to see it again.

I won't give anything away. This was a very well done movie all around. The acting was all top notch, but particularly the little boy. When you see it you'll know what I mean.

Time travel movies can be really tough to do. Getting a sense of how actions in the past can affect people in the future is hard to show effectively, and usually it's pretty ham-handed.
This movie did it masterfully. And it did it with a style that was stark, realistic, and poignant all at once. The vision of the even the near future that we see in Looper is not a great one. It's desolate, but definitely a future that makes sense to us - people living on the streets, dirty cities, familiar technology with just a sprinkle of futurism (the flying crop-spraying robot, for example) all made for a great setting.
The plot itself was interesting and understandable, but just far out enough that it was still sci-fi. The acting was outstanding - Levitt was great as a resigned-to-his-fate hit man, and Bruce Willis was amazing as his driven future self come back to fix problems that plagued him in his life. The dialogue was simple but well-directed, and everything flowed nicely from scene to scene.
All in all, this was a must-see for sci-fi fans.

I had brought three other friends with me to watch this movie. After this movie they really made sure that I regret this decision forever. I normally like every other movie because there is always something good about that. But I don't know but I really hate this movie and I am surprised how come people can give it so much high ranking. Even metascore has given it 84/100 (imdb). I must be going insane because there was definitely nothing in this movie to like. And this is my first ever review for any movie, you can imagine how pissed I am.

I was totally floored by how awesome this movie is. It is easily the best movie I have seen in years. Though he has aged quite a bit since then, Bruce Willis delivers his best performance since Pulp Fiction, and Jeff Daniels finally breaks out of his typecast reputation that he has held (at least with me) since Dumb and Dumber. Before Looper, I just found it hard to take Daniels seriously, but he plays a villain masterfully in this film. I am unable to find any fault whatsoever with this movie. The action is non-stop; the story is killer and can't help but hold your attention; the special effects are awesome; the props, especially those involving vehicles such as futuristic cars and flying motorcycles, are deliciously weird the way you would expect them to be in a great sci-fi film.
This movie deserves to be ranked in the top 10 or 20 best science fiction films ever made. When I say this movie is dickish, I mean it is Phil Dickish. If you are a science fiction buff, go see this movie! You'll be in heaven for every minute of the roughly 2 hour run time.

I really wanted this movie to be the next Inception, so maybe I just went in with too high of hopes. For a movie with time travel, it's really very simplistic. I kept waiting and hoping for some clever twist. Even the way it was resolved wasn't so much a twist as just how it was put to an end. I loved how Inception made me think. This isn't a thinking man's movie. That said, it's still some fun sci-fi. The first 15 minutes or so really had some clever and cool sequences in them. I just don't know if I would've seen it in the theater. It would've been fine to wait and watch at home.

They lured me in with Bruce Willis .... and then I had to sit through extremely long, moody and somewhat confusing and over-thought concoction.
The actors did great, special effects were on the dot, but the plot was contrived, inconsistent and, in places, unnecessarily disturbing. They completely screwed up and misconstrued the mechanics and repercussions of the time travel. If you follow the loops' logic, you will see where each loop is incomplete and will restart again. The illogical outcomes made me more unsettled than the intentionally graphic torture scene.
What a disappointment. The plot had potential. I think some interesting side stories were wasted. Try again, Hollywood.

Looper is one of those rare films that treats its audience with intelligence. I loved the storyline (you gotta love time travel films and the "what-if" scenarios) because it has an intelligence plot and story. The relationship between Bruce WIllis and Joesph Gordon-Levvitt (unrecognizable in prosthetic make-up or brillian special effects) is plausible, and the acting is solid. I found Looper to be one of the great new Sci-Fi films and enjoyed it thoroughly. I highly recommend Looper to anyone looking for a thought-provoking (and action-packed) film. See it!
